— a starter for EDUARDO SUTTON ( @ofhowls )
As melodramatic as it sounded, Javier had been finding it harder and harder to find joy in the simple things lately. However, he did have a soft spot for these regular — or at least as regular as each of their busy schedules would allow them to be — dinners with his brother. It gave Javier something to look forward to throughout the week; they granted him the sliver of normalcy and authenticity in his life that Javier desperately craved. Tonight, he had prepared a simple meal for three ( in case Carmen had decided to come ) of Spanish chicken and rice — their mother called it Arroz con Pollo, a personal favourite of his growing up. ❝ Dinner’s ready ! ❞ Javier announced as he set the last of the utensils down along with a bottle of wine.
