She hated being at Charlie’s. It was a constant reminder of her father’s death. A constant reminder that she had killed him and her mother had moved on with his best friend of all people in less than a year. She still wasn’t over Sam, and they weren’t even technically engaged. How could her mother easily get into another relationship after a long marriage and relationship before then? She’d never understand and never care to consider Bella basically her step-sister. The thought was replusive.
She watched the boy make his way down the stairs warily. Sue had given her the lowdown of the kid. She felt bad for him, but it didn’t lessen the annoyance of having to show anyone around the rainy small towns. It would take all of five minutes, there was really nothing to show. To her it seemed like a summer sentenced here was adding another layer of punishment to the teenager.
"Yeah, yeah. Nice to meet you and all that jazz, but I have to say you’re going to be sorely disappointed."
With his leg, he wouldn’t be able to do the one thing they all did for fun. Not that he’d want to, the waves were strong and the water was freezing all year round. Other than that, there was a grocery store, a hiking store, and the schools. He wouldn’t be interested in the schools. Maybe she’d just swing him by a small diner and show him the miserable thing they called a beach. Opening the front door, she held it for him.
"Hope you don’t mind rain."
Although Charlie had remained relatively quiet, Sue had Augustus well informed about pretty much e v e r y t h i n g concerning their hometown(s). She had filled the car ride from Seattle with stories about their children, how welcoming the residents of Forks and La Push were, the medical facility — no subject was left untouched. Augustus was extremely thankful for Charlie and Sue’s hospitality. His parents had sent him to Washington with a decent amount of money. However instead of spending it on clothing, video games, or anything else a normal teenager would buy, Gus had offered the money to them. He didn’t want to impose on them more than he already was. Even though Sue still had her own place in La Push, she spent quite some time living in Forks, therefor, Augustus wanted to chip in. Food was nowhere near cheap, especially as Charlie now had an extra mouth to feed, and if Gus took Sue’s word, her children had quite the appetite. Nonetheless, both adults had turned his offer down. Continuously telling him that having him stay with them was no bother & that he should only be focused on having fun.
❝How so? This town doesn’t seem to bad.❞ While Gus knew he wouldn’t be able to do anything extreme such as cliff diving, he was positive that he’d find something to keep himself occupied. Whether that was simply finding an activity to do at the beach, stroll around the stores in town, go for a hike (which although harder was not impossible for him), or meet some new people. After all, things were automatically l e s s boring if you had a friend there with you. Saying a quick goodbye to Sue and Charlie & thanking them once again for allowing him to stay with them over the summer, Augustus followed after Leah. Having a girl hold the door for him was certainly a new expierence, however, that didn’t stop Gus from thanking her profusely.

"Uh..Excuse me? Do you happen to know how to get to the…heart of Jesus?"
❝As a matter of fact I do, I'm heading there now. Are you one of the volunteers Patrick hired?❞
Augustus Waters drove horrifically. Whether stopping or starting, everything happened with a tremendous JOLT. I flew against the seat belt of his Toyota SUV each time he braked, and my neck snapped backward each time he hit the gas. I might have been nervous — what with sitting in the car of a strange boy on the way to his house, keenly aware that my crap lungs complicate efforts to fend off unwanted advances — but his driving was so astonishingly poor that I could think of nothing else.

”See? So I’m not the only one thinking it was strange. I don’t have much experience with it, but I’ve never been barked at. Now I’m embarrassed you had to see it.”
Elena’s cheeks flushed slightly and she pushed her hair out of her face before giving him a smile. People assumed she was smooth, when she really wasn’t. Obviously. Her animal disaster was witnessed.
”Anyways..”
❝There's no need to be embarrassed. ❞ Gus wanted to make the girl before him feel at ease. Especially If her flushed cheeks were any indication to the embarrassment she felt. He wasted no second in returning her smile. He wasn't fibbing when he told her she had n o t h i n g to be embarrassed about. No one could have foreseen the squirrels reaction. ❝I'm Augustus.❞

” — i don’t think i’ve ever told you how much to mean to me, augustus. you mean a whole bunch of a lot.”

“At some angles of your face I’m pretty sure I’d be able to make you easily on the sims — and at other angles I’m like fuck, no, that’s impossible.”
❝Consider me flattered for someone even considering making a sim character out of me. I can see where some of my facial features would be h a r d to create.❞

“What’s the worst thing that could happen? — — —
Well — you could d i e . & I don’t know about you, but death seems pretty bad to me. Who are you and why is leaving not an option, anyways?”
Death. A human’s most common fear. When asked about their biggest fear, most people would answer with exactly that. Gus however was not one of them. The only thing Augustus feared was oblivion. ❝Death is N O T an uncommon subject to me. I don’t fear death. — My name is Augustus, Augustus Waters. I’m in Beacon Hills for surgery. Who are you? ❞

⊰ ☪ ❛ I am so sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going … I would be less embarrassed if I walked into a pole — are you okay? ❜
❝There's no need to apologize. I'd rather have you walk in to me. than a pole. It's a considered amount less painful don't you think? And yes, I'm alright. Are you?❞
I want a verse where Augustus didn’t succumb to Osteosarcoma & therefor I need an older face claim for Gus. Any suggestions?

Elena stood still, listening to the barking of a squirrel. Yes, they barked. For some reason it was twitching it’s tail at her, like it was cursing at her in it’s own language. When she moved it watched her. She dug into her pockets finding a small piece of candy, tossing it at the animal that happily took off with the sweet.
“I don’t think squirrels like me.”
This was by far one of the weirdest things Augustus had encountered. The squirrel seemed to resent the girl, which was odd on its own. The girl before him hadn't done anything out of the ordinary. The animals in Beacon Hills sure behaved peculiarly. When the small creature finally did leave after Elena had tossed it a treat, Augustus focused his attention back on her. Still not a hundred percent sure on what had happened. ❝I think you may be right. That was the strangest thing.❞
”Why are you so confident about that? You don’t know anything about that’s going on in this town. If I cared, I’d tell you to leave with you still can.”
❝Does anyone? This town seems big on mysteries. The headlines I've come across are quite astonishing. — Leaving is n o t an option for me. Besides, what's the worst that can happen right?❞
What was the hand signal for sorry? She had a picture perfect memory, and yet everything escaped her when she needed it. Sign language was hard, but it slowly came back to her. Fist to her chest, clockwise. Sorry. Nessie offered a little smile. She couldn’t talk to people; it was frustrating. She didn’t mean to stare; she’d just never smelled death so strongly on something that was alive — never mind someone that was still alive.
Augustus's sign language was slightly rusty. Through out the months he had gone to support group with Hazel Grace and Isaac, barely a handful of kids had been deaf, therefor learning the language seemed rather pointless to him. Gus had learned the basic's, and thus he d i d understand what Renesmee meant, however, he needed a few seconds to put everything together.
❝Its alright ma'am. There's no need to apologize. My name is Augustus. And you are?❞ Understanding the signs had always been easier than learning it himself. And so he stuck to talking. Nonetheless, he had tried to sign out his name. There may have been some mistakes in there but he assumed the girl understood. She didn't seem deaf. After all, she had heard him ask if everything was alright.

“‘m not new, actually. just haven’t been back in awhile.”
❝Than I apologize for jumping to conclusions I'd say welcome back, but I don't think anyone wants to be here voluntarily. I'm Augustus. Augustus Waters.❞
( coiotesx )
”— not sure if it’s true. as you said, a lot of people die here. doesn’t that say anything?”
❝I can see why some people would see it like that, however, I've always been one to take risks. Who knows, I might be one of the lucky ones who actually makes it out of this town alive.❞
( diedfighting )
❝I definitely agree. I just wish people had the drive —… the perseverance to decipher the metaphor instead of just nodding and going along with it.
Oh —.. uh thanks. I don’t think I’ve seen you around before. Where are you from?❞
❝Perhaps someday mankind will see the error in their ways. Until them I'm glad I found someone with the same perspective on the matter. I moved here from Indianapolis for some personal reasons a few days ago. This is my first day at Beacon Hills high school. I'm glad I met someone as intriguing as yourself Allison Argent.❞
