Stede was so real for killing that guy in the first episode.
Like yeah, the man who tortured and bullied you for your entire schooling career did deserve to die, based behaviour and we love to see it

It’s the sweetest reply. And accurate.
Lucky would suggest a degree of chance when in fact a series of deliberate events caused Stede to be heir to great wealth.
Or he could’ve said ‘happy’ in reply to ‘what do you suppose that makes you?’
Or rich.
He could already have been beaten down by his father’s bullying, and said ‘undeserving’ or ‘spoiled’.
Yet despite being a child, Stede gives a positive answer, whilst still recognising life has treated him favourably.
In terms of wealth, Stede is fortunate. And he has the emotional intelligence to recognise that even when young, demonstrating a degree of sensibility beyond the selfishness that is often attributed to his character.
The scene with Nigel, though, when he mocks the crew and then all of Stede’s things: the ship, the library, everything he’s proud of. When the other officers mock the crew’s flags and keep calling Olu and Frenchie “slaves” and “savages.”
And then the scene with Ed, who just…embraces everything. Who loves the crew. Who never belittles them. Who is himself a man of color. Who thinks the library is crazy and amazing. Who marvels at the teeny tiny model of the Revenge. Who looks at Stede and says he’s a good pirate because he’s survived.
Who sees this strange outsider and just falls in love with him.
God.

The last supper
I love all of those silly pirates so much, I just had to make something (since I can't draw, this is what you get: a pirate flag cushion 😃).
In the true spirit of the crafting pirate crew, I used only stuff I already had in my stash. One lesson of this project: it isn't easy to pretend one can't sew 😛😂
Stede’s first f**kery!!!
This was a genius idea that actually worked! They get away! And it was STEDE’S idea!
