Of all of Bruce’s six hundred kids, Dick might be her favorite. Jason is a close second, would be first if he wasn’t so goddamn sarcastic. (Not that she has any right to complain about that.)

But Dick is the first one to approach her without lectures or outright attack her. There were no thrown vases, no mentions of how shitty she was for Bruce. He knew that, she could tell from the way he looked at her apartment, but he didn’t need to say it. 

There’s something about him that’s different. More mature maybe than the others. His edges aren’t so sharp. If it weren’t for the way he spoke just like goddamn Bruce, she wouldn’t believe he was even a part of that family. 

She actually sort of likes him. 

tony:

She can’t go a day without seeing Stark’s name on something. It’s like he invented half the goddamn city. Public opinion seems split on him. Some people are singing his praises, talking about how brilliant and ingenious he is, and others whisper about what a goddamn asshole he is. Tabloids run headlines about his drinking problem, his latest playboy antics.

She takes the good and the bad with a grain of salt. The tabloids say similar shit about Bruce, after all. And no one is ever as goddamn smart as they think they are. But if what Natasha says is true, then the only thing she knows for certain is he’d make one hell of a drinking buddy.

Maybe the real joke was that Joker had no idea how he came to be. One bad day and a few scars later ( there might have been a few chemicals to thank ) but that was all it took for him for him to become Gotham’s beloved Clown Prince of Crime. Who he had been before means nothing to him. The few memories that manage to trickle through his show of insanity bring nothing but crippling reality with them. They kill his laughter but it must never end so the past is worthless to Joker. It’s a place even the killer clown will not touch with a ten foot pole.

♡ + dreams she's had/has

send me a heart and get a headcanon:

Jessica doesn’t sleep well. 

In those first few weeks after Kilgrave, she could barley close her eyes without dreaming of the crash. Of hotels and fancy dinners and people being degraded before her eyes. Of his voice, his touch, his hands on her. That time he made her undress in the restaurant, change clothes with the woman beside her while everyone watched --

Her nightmares are different now. The old ones resurface once in a while, but now she dreams of that night on the dock. Trish’s lips on Kilgrave, the deranged grin on his face when he thought he could control her again. The way she had to smile back. The feel of his skin as her hands closed around his throat, the sickening crunch as she snapped his neck. 

She wakes up drenched in sweat and shaking. Mumbling street names while she reaches for a bottle (she always keeps one beside the bed for this reason exactly). 

Once in a while, when the world takes goddamn pity on her, she has dreams that don’t send her into a spiral, make her abandon her bed and hit the streets with her flask and camera. Dreams about Bruce, or her family from back then. Dreams about life before, when her biggest problem was making sure Trish didn’t relapse and dealing with her latest shitty boss.

But they’re few and far between. So most nights, she drinks until her brain is too clogged with whiskey to form a coherent thought, and then passes out on her futon. (It doesn’t help much, she still dreams.) She sleeps a little easier during the day, so her alarms are consistently set to 3pm.
