Silence as the hedgehog stares, hands clasped as his legs dangle over the meadow's edge. A question NAGS him, and it won't leave him alone. There are gaps in his mind he still hasn't filled, and those he had, so difficult to remember. And so, he can't help but wonder: how much does she know about him? How much does /she/ remember? To picture what she's feeling... HE'S SO SCARED OF THE ANSWER. ❝ ...Do you remember me? ❞ [Shadow u-u]
She’s laying on her back, crimson eyes wide and full of wonder. Clouds. She’s never seen clouds before. There’s so many… all the different shapes and sizes! She can’t help but find herself entranced by the infinite amount of details tracing each one. The way the sun’s light pours through, cascading and tracing against each one, captivating her so much that she almost doesn’t hear the other hedgehog speak.
Craning her neck, she peers up at Shadow with a quizzical red stare. She’s unsure what to make of the question — Do you remember me ?
Why, of course she does. How couldn’t she? That was her friend. Her brother. Though it feels more like an affirmation than common sense. A piece of information picked out of the scattered mess that were her memories. Memories of which she was still trying to recall. Still trying to make sense of. Part of her wondered if they were even real to begin with. (Or if it had all been a dream.)
“ Of course I do, you’re Shadow ! ” A smile tugs at the corner of her mouth. She sits up abruptly, blonde quills brushing past her shoulders, now decorated with the clovers and blades of grass that’d been caught between the sharp spikes. Although she can’t help but suspect that there’s more to that question than a simple yes or no answer. Her brother never was much of a talker, Maria finds herself suddenly recalling.
“ I remember… being friends. Best friends, even ! We used to play together on the Ark all the time, when grandfather would allow it anyway… ”
