🏺 — He wasn’t sure when he first saw her. He wasn’t sure for that first minute. It was across a crowded square, a good few yards, and he had hardly caught a glimpse of that olive skin from where he stood outside the Grill. A face he knew all to well, one that blended seamlessly among the Mystic Fall’s inhabitants. How many generations had the Petrovas spent on this very soil?  Did anyone truly know beyond, the main three?  Not his Amara, however. There home was seas away, and the way his Amara carried herself was unique. The micro-movements of her elegant frame. 

She could have been a hallucination and Silas wouldn’t have blamed himself. Which is why he chose not to stand from his seat at his lunch-for-one outside dining table. It was why, instead, he gazed longingly and curiously so at the figure that looked so much like his love -- that had to be his love. A soul recognizing the vessel of another. Would her gaze caught his own?  Or would she pass by without another glance?  He wondered which scenario his heart craved more... The promise of a reunion, or the familiarity of a love’s cold absence.
