vegaspete × that one english test question
oh, i will be cruel to you. it will stop your breath, how cruel i can be. but you understand, don’t you? i am a demanding creature. i am selfish and cruel and extremely unreasonable. but i am your servant. when you starve i will feed you; when you are sick i will tend you. i crawl at your feet; for before your love, your kisses, i am debased. for you alone i will be weak.

happy pete monday...
a detail in kinnporsche that i only just now discovered
While I was rewatching KinnPorsche for what is probably now at least the 25th time (because I am very normal about this show), I discovered a detail that I had never noticed before - and I haven't seen anyone else mention this.
To start with, everyone in the show pronounces Vegas' name as just that - "Vegas". Of course, there is one character who pronounces his name as "Wegath", and that character is Pete. But wait - this is not the brand new detail that I noticed (because if you've watched KP, then you've either noticed yourself or had someone point out to you that Pete pronounces Vegas' name differently).
Well, I initially filed this information aside as simply Pete giving Vegas a pet name, some sort of foreshadowing to their relationship (it's pretty obvious from Vegas' intro in EP 2 that Pete has a thing for him). But then, EP 11 rolled around, specifically the scene where Vegas bandages Pete up.
This scene is the only time in the series that Vegas says his own name. And take a guess how he says it? "Wegath".
Pete has been using the same pronunciation that Vegas himself uses for his name.
On top of the further loving implications that this holds, it also really helps to cement Vegas as our antagonist. Every other character from the main family treats Vegas somewhat more like a nuisance than an actual threat, but Pete introduces him in the way that Vegas would introduce himself - as "Wegath", who has an equal position to Kinn.
happy vegaspete day!
