   It isn’t like Reeve to get physical in what he wants to make himself believe he stands for. “People aren’t pieces on a board you can simply do what you wish with at your whim!” His voice loud in this corridor as he obstructs the other’s way, becoming a wall of sorts that prevents him from taking anymore steps further. The string of his own sanity is quite slim, by a thread has it yet to snap. And having been witness to what Heidegger’s got in mind concerning citizens who were witnesses to private Shinra affairs they weren’t supposed to be a witness to, well Reeve couldn’t just let himself stand on the sidelines. To simply dispose of them, how that came up as the first option at all Reeve can’t comprehend it in the least. “They’re merely citizens who were at the wrong place at the wrong time, think of how frightened they are over this ordeal as well!” He implores. His pleas are in vain however, and at this point he should know better, but still he tries to see if he can be heard, if he has any positive effect at all—does he? Is he doing everything he possibly can? Is there more? He might as well be talking to a wall with Heidegger. His words make Reeve consider his options momentarily, not putting it past him that if he has to get physical then he will. 

   “I will not... move.” His heart beats anxiously, but he mirrors that threatening gaze with his own and clenches his fists to the point where color starts to become absent. “There’s another way,” he says suddenly, “I know of another way. I’ll... I’ll handle them just give me a day.” Is... Is that what he wanted to do here? That he’ll be silencing them instead? “One day, that’s all.” He says with more certainty, convincing himself that at least through his method of silencing nobody will die so it’s better(?).

Rinoa wandered down the halls of the Galbadian Garden. If there was one place she felt like a princess, in that way people used as an insult, it was here. The Garden had close ties to the army, and she just happened to be the daughter of the General, thus the most superficial respect was put on like a show.

As if these people don’t have minds of their own. It’s sad, and infuriating. But she couldn’t dwell on that; she was here on a mission, searching for her god-father who just happened to work here. A giant of a man comparable that to a bear, Rinoa knew he struck fear and respect from the cadets that settled here, though she’s never experienced any such thing. The man was a giant softie, and maybe it wasn’t the most classy thing to admit, but she also knew she had him wrapped around her pinkie finger.

He was also the closest thing to a real father she had and often times wished he was. When she talked, she felt listened to.. most of the time. Better than none of the time. And what he didn’t take seriously, she could use. Again, not classy, but this wasn’t a game. This was going to change Galbadia forever and change the world for the better.

Rinoa carelessly pokes in room to room until she finally finds Heid in his office. Imminently perking up, the rebel is considerate enough to knock on the doorframe to garner his attention in case he was in some kind of important meeting.

When Cloud was still with Shinra, he looked up to Heidegger to the point he saw him as both a mentor (and something akin to a father figure). He was a lot of things he wanted to be and in a sense wanted to prove his worth to him. The fact he looked up at him so much made it tough when Heid inevitably was the one to tell him he hadn’t made SOLDIER. It was both heartbreaking and shameful that he’d not only failed, but his own mentor was the one to tell him. He’d failed him after all the time the man had spent training him. It was after that, he started avoiding Heid, not willing to face him after disappointing him. It was soon after that he was shipped off to the Nibelheim mission and never did have the chance to apologize to Heidegger.

Cloud knew about Heidegger from before joining Shinra, but didn’t have a deep knowledge of him. He’d seen his name a few times in some of his dad’s old newspapers before he passed away. He knew he’d made a name for himself and thought he was cool with his vast achievements and general look. The only reason he didn’t look up to him until meeting him in Shinra was because Sephiroth just happened to be a bigger star when he was growing up (thanks Shinra).

   He can’t believe his eyes. He stares at his development plans for the slums go into a complete disarray. Some papers landing on his office floor and a thin amount of them lay sprawled out on the corner of his desk. There’s a breath that’s caught itself in his throat, so ticked and obviously so that his chest does puff out some. “Ah... ” From the place where he had his neatly stacked paperwork he looks up at the culprit from where Reeve sits on his seat behind his desk. On the planet why did he have to-... WHAT THE FUCK-.

   “... What do you want?” He tries not to give him the pleasure of hearing him sound upset.

@ofthepublic​ :  ❝ Some things are worth spilling blood for. ❞ the moral compass of right or wrong was irrelevant. it is the heart of your gut, something inexplicable, but the just for the cause you feel leading to liberation. motivation for his men, perhaps. but they are words he believes to be true, whether the young general finds purpose to them or not is up to him.

sephiroth knows this to be true. he is a child born and bred for war. killing was learnt young as a necessity of life. spilling blood is as easy as destroying practice dummies. survival is worth the price of life. but sephiroth is careful not to revel in death, careful not to find pleasure in killing. there are plenty of those in the military who kill because it is fun. or perhaps it’s simply because they don’t see those they slay as anything other than practice dummies. young general finds people like that ugly.
