                                    it’s a FUCKING invasion of privacy.         one minute he gets to live his life the way he         wants  (  and he’s not gonna be made to  feel        ashamed of the life he leads  )  and the  next        he has to  share  his  head  with  a  bunch  of         strangers.              and there’s no WARNING.                 sometimes they’re in whatever  dive  he’s  hauled                himself into for a night, and the next he’s standing                in the middle of a  crowded  street  with  his  towel                around his waist, a toothbrush in  his  mouth,  and                 toothpaste        running        down        his        chin.                              and the  thing  is,  most  of  the                             time it’s because of the blonde.         and he’s not so sure it’s ACCIDENTAL at all.                       especially when nuka’s sprawled out on his                      bed   like   he’s   posing   sans   clothes,  or                       murphy’s   inviting  some  guy  back  to  his                       place and has to forgo the  company  cause                      HE’S                     already                     there.            once or twice he ends up in the wrong            bathroom, or  waking  up  drooling  on            someone  else’s  pillow.  and  maybe            nuka’s  just  not  thrown,  or  he’s  the            devil    incarnate,    cause   murphy’s            losing          sleep           over            it.                          sometimes it’s not even an inopportune time,  but                           the   fact  nuka  drops  his  head  in  murphy’s  lap,                           or slings an arm over his shoulder, or they’re just                          close enough that if he were real  (  and murphy’s                          not so sure he is  )   their   breath   would   mingle.            “ i know you’re doing this on purpose. ” 

  and nuka just grins and looks at him  in a way that  either  challenges  the   accusation, or urges him to  ask  for  it                         to                      stop.               (  he should, but he doesn’t  )         and shit maybe a couple of the times are his fault.

                               he’s pretty  sure  the  only  reason  it’s                               been   going   on  so  long  is  because                                of the RUSH that comes from keeping                               it secret because  the  truth  is  they’re                                too different.          he’s biting and rude.                               and                                                 nuka ---             nuka’s the boy parents wanted their kid to              bring home. and that’s  just  about  as  far             from      murphy’s      type      as    it     got.                       and it’s not REALLY a relationship. mostly it was                      finding   places  to  fuck  and  murphy  muffling  a                       mocking laughter against  the  blonde’s  shoulder                      while someone banged on the bathroom door and                      told      nuka       to      hurry       the       hell       up.      it’s not even a relationship the first time he stays      the night and wakes up to nuka  cooking.  or  that       their fingers brush harmlessly under the table  at      a bar they all frequented.         or that sometimes       kissing       didn’t       even       lead       to       sex.           but maybe it’s harder to  deny          it when  he  let’s  himself  into           nuka’s apartment at  three  in          the morning just to  share the          bed               with               him. 

                        honestly in the end    the   only   part   of                        secret     relationship    that    turned  out                         to   be    BULLSHIT  was  the  fact   that                         they    were   shit   at   sneaking  around,                        and   that   octavia  bangs  on  the   door                        the     next    morning    with     breakfast                         for nuka, and extra for his not  boyfriend.

       the words are spoken casually, but lincoln understands the depth of what nuka’s saying. they had always been like brothers. but since the skypeople had fallen to earth, they had gotten even closer. nuka had been one of the only people lincoln could rely on, one of the only grounders that could take a step back & alter their perception of the skaikru. without nuka, the LONELINESS of being away from home would have sunk in indefinitely. at least with him here, lincoln could still have a piece of familiarity. he’d never be able to convey how much his loyalty meant to him. when everyone else was calling him a traitor — even elias — nuka was the one to stand up for him.

        the words are spoken fondly, not with resentment. lincoln believes he made the right choice by leaving his people to help the ones that fell from the sky. a lot of that decision had to do with octavia --- who WAS tiny, yes, but she had a BIG HEART and an even bigger will to FIGHT. lincoln had become infatuated with her, and he couldn’t just leave her to die. but he and nuka both knew that it wasn’t all to do with her, that their commander had been WRONG in her betrayal. after giving her word, lexa had still gone forth with breaking an alliance, proving that she wasn’t to be trusted.
