“You–” He raises a hand, but instead of lashing out, an index finger jabs the air in punctuation as he spits, “You philistine!” Such disrespect! The nerve of this woman!
“I do not need to resort to such puerile actions to make my point. And giving me the first shot? What a joke.” Not that he could hit her even if he wanted to (and he does). Her own observations notwithstanding, getting into a fistfight is a bad idea – he needs to keep his head down for now.
