Arriving in a new world could cause a lot of commotion, especially if it happened in the open public. For this reason, Spoons tried her best to aim for alleyways or other semi-private areas. Today, her portal opened on top of a tall building looking over the city.
First the air wavered and shimmered, all accompanied by a growing hum that was more felt than heard. Then the thin air yawned apart into a portal of swirling colors and flashes of void. The golden android hopped through, landing with the grace of a ballet dancer. She turned to watch the portal disappear and then turned her gaze to the glittering lights of a city at night. She wasn’t sure which city yet, but she had bigger problems.
She wasn’t alone, something she realized only belatedly.
