I love how confident is OH!Donatello in his/her/their body! In most medias, characters like him/her/them are sad and insecure until someone (most of the time their love interest) tells them that they are beautiful the way they are. People who are confident in their bodies are decipted as vain and arrogant and it is so nice to see Donatello laught in this horrible cliche's face.
Thank you so much! Yeah, I'm really trying to portray that about Donnie, and strike that balance. I think it largely stems from them being weighed down about their body for a good chunk of their life. But after a point she was like "to heck with that" and kinda decided to be more confident out of pure spite against the nay-sayers and to practice more self-love. Donnie's still got some arrogance, but mostly about his intelligence. Overall, he tries to practice body-positivity when possible, both regarding himself and others.
Like, she's got some self doubt to work through, but is the type of person where if one person says "you can't do x" or "you're ugly", that's often the motivating factor to be like, "you're wrong, I'm awesome!" in order to prove them wrong, haha!
Either way, I wanted Donnie's confidence to be an active decision - because sometimes it's hard to love yourself and it takes practice, and I want to show Donnie actively practicing self-love.
