OH!Raph’s top three favorite monster movies and trivia about them? Also, Do Raph and Leo have an activity that they do together, such as picking apart action movie scenes or some kind of sport? (I just love Tol and Smol bro content tbh. They are both perfect and excellent and I love them. ♥️)
Monster Movies:
Raph’s fave monster movies include Godzilla (pretty much all movies), Alien, and The Evil Dead. Godzilla is probably his favorite monster, and he loves the heroes, Ripley and Ash in Alien and The Evil Dead respectively. His favorite monster movie is the original 1931 version of Frankenstein, but it sometimes makes him feel sad because he feels sorry for the monster.
Fun monster movie facts:
The Godzilla suit caught fire in Godzilla vs Mothra.
Godzilla’s gender is often debatable, having been referred to by gender-neutral pronouns in Japanese, male pronouns in English, and having given birth in a few different incarnations.
The crew of Alien were written without gender in mind.
The reaction to the chest-bursting scene in Alien was genuine since the details of what would happen were kept from the cast.
The cabin in The Evil Dead had a dark and spooky history, and was struck by lightning and burnt down a week after the movie was shot.
The make-up for the monster in Frankenstein was very innovative for its time (Raph, in general, has an interest in how the films are made)
Tol and Smol content:
Raph and Leo enjoy watching movies together. Raph likes monster/horror films, and Leo likes old, classic, black-and-white movies, and there are plenty of films that overlap in those categories that the two enjoy watching together.
There aren’t really any specific sports that they both latch onto, but they are often found in the dojo sparring with one another. Both are more comfortable with going all-out against each other than with their brothers, since they know it’d be hard to actually really hurt the other (Raph is too tough, and Leo is too good at dodging/lessening blows). There is a running tally going on with who’s on top in various contests of skill. These contests between the two started slowly shifting outside of the dojo and into other parts of the their life from impromptu eating contests to arm-wrestling matches to seeing who can clean the lair the fastest (that last one resulting from a tactic that the other Hamatos use when they want to push off their chores onto them).
