More Roommate Dynamics: Stormlight Archives College AU

Wow I didn't expect Adolin's one of these to be by far the most popular but he needs more love and attention so here we go. Another set of headcanons involving our favorite messed up college students!

Renarin is the only morning person out of the three. Kaladin would be a morning person but late nights studying for exams have turned him into a zombie before 9 am. Adolin is an unashamed night owl and if he could get away with not waking up before noon, he would. 

Whenever the other two drag themselves out of bed, they usually find that Renarin has made coffee or tea and is just relaxing on the couch reading a book. Quiet music is playing in the background and it’s so peaceful. 

The living room is always a mess. Partly because Adolin’s practice gear gets dropped everywhere whenever he comes home late, but also because there’s a lot of books and stuff laying about. It feels really homey. 

There’s a chess board on an end table with a game in progress. Adolin has been playing chess since he was little as an activity he does with his dad. It’s carried over to being part of the chess club at college. He and Kaladin have ongoing matches (I’m thinking like Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr in X-Men First Class before Erik goes off the deep end), which Renarin likes to sabotage on occasion. 

Adolin refuses to let Kaladin wash his scrubs in the apartment washing machine since Kaladin had just come back from anatomy cadaver lab and “I’m not going to have clothes that have touched dead people in my washing machine Kaladin! That’s just not sanitary!”

Kaladin guilts Adolin and Renarin into helping him study by having them quiz him on all sorts of practice questions before his midterms. Renarin actually enjoys helping Kal study. Adolin does it so he can light-heartedly tease Kaladin when he makes a mistake. 

Adolin ended up giving Syl a key to their apartment since she likes to show up at random times to bug Kaladin and she’d just pick the lock if she didn’t have a key. He loves watching the look on Kaladin’s face when Syl glomps him from behind. The shock then resignation are just too funny.
