Something I've thought about since i learned of the Until Dawn remake: Oh Death was the perfect opening song for the story and replacing it in the remake was a crime.

It is a real folk song from the Appalachian mountains, often sung by coal miners. There are multiple versions of it, but the general idea in all of them is that the singer is begging Death not to take them because they are too young, and Death telling them that they take the souls of the young and old, innocent and guilty.

It's perfect because the whole game is about a group of teenagers/young adults who do something that results in the disappearance of two of their friends and the resulting guilt a year after those events. The whole gimmick is trying to keep all the kids alive through the story and how it is possible to kill all of them by the end. And not every kid is guilty, Chris was passed out drunk during the prank so he had no involvement. Sam tried to stop it but honestly could have done a better job stopping Hannah. Everyone could die depending on how the player plays the game.

It also fits how it takes place in the Appalachian mountains and the old mines there are part of the backstory. The miners from the cave in survived by cannibalizing each other, and this resulted in them becoming wendigos. They staved off death but became monsters that refuse to die. Honestly, dying would have been preferable to becoming a wendigo.

An added bonus is that you hear it right after Beth and Hannah fall off the cliff. Though the singer is not the actress who played them, it almost sounds to me that the song is them meeting Death and begging them not to let them die.

Im so glad my favorite streamers all picked the original version to play. It might be glitchy but its still better.
