I have realized after watching Hannibal and Downton Abbey that Dr Chilton and Edith are both the punching bags of their show, except Frederick has it quantifyably worse because Ediths never been disemboweled, shot in the face, had her lips bitten off and then burned, she just can’t keep a man.

None of the other characters like them and they're not very likable but you want to protect them or just kill them because its painful to watch them eternally suffer
