On this day (September 25) in 2008, University of Plymouth presented Matt, Dom, and Chris with an Honorary Doctorate of the Arts. Apparently, speaking about the presentation, Matt said “I’m pretty sure we’re not worthy.”

When I originally saw the first picture years ago I had no idea what it was and just thought they were being goofy, but knowing they actually received this honorary doctorate is super neat!!

They didn’t go the typical route because of the band, but I do think it’s well deserved. I mean, they obviously know their shit and worked hard artistically regardless of whether or not they took official classes for it.

Also, Matt saying that he doesn’t think they deserve it just makes me think he respects those who do take that long, conventional route towards this doctorate which makes me uwu even MORE. He respecc.
