My favourite part of The Atonement cutscene that almost no one mentions is when John tells the newly awoken Deputy to hold still, so that he can tattoo them properly, they DO AS HE SAYS! They actually LET GO of him and stay perfectly still. They don't struggle AT ALL, don't look around or away from John, they don't need a cultist to hold them down or to point a gun at them in an unspoken threat to behave, they just do what John asks them without further prompting or threats. I guess the Deputy immediately accepts that they're getting a tattoo and just wants it to look good XD Am I the only one losing my mind over this??

To be fair, there is an armed cultist holding their left shoulder down (as you can see here or here) but they could still move if they wanted to, especially considering how strong they are. But yeah, instead, they let go of John’s arm and just... accept their fate.

I suppose they realized it was too late because John was nearly done and that struggling while you’re being tattooed is never a good idea anyway :’)

In this story Scrooge, together with the municipal administration, organizes a competition between the districts of Duckburg: the goal is to get the more cans they can for recycling. Scrooge's intention is to melt them to produce new cans, and Rockerduck contributes to the deal by proposing Scrooge to rely on his foundries. So they actually are together in this and it's a carefree competition but:

Chopper 1: 41 hundreds and 3 pounds! Chopper 2: ulp! I confirm: 41 hundreds and 3! Major: There's no doubt then! Team Duck wins for a 3 pounds gap! John: That's not possible! Fate's against me!

Donald: That's not the fate's fault, Rockerduck! It was you who offered us victory! John: What? Donald: 3 pounds! That's exactly the amount of the full soda cans Rockerduck gave me, and which I tossed, emptied, in our team's silos!

Previously:

Donald: And that's the last one! I must say it was very kind of Rockerduck to get me some drinks! Donald: But I must not forget I'm on Team Duck!

His team actually lost because he was kind to Donald!

I mean there wasnt more parallel with the kid but there was more with child-like things. deans childish over the top behaviour, the several mentioned of this whole wrestling thing being something that reminds him of his childhood and his father. calling gunnar "sir" and gunnar calling him "kid". which is alos more of the Dean's inner five year old meets his hero. I mean I'm not saying this was the hetero hour and i see why you think this was more deliberate

Yeah, very true. There were def multiple parallels/readings going on when it came to Dean and Gunner. And yeah, I do think the non-bisexual ones were more explicit, as usual. So it goes.

@larinah also messaged me actually (don’t know if they’ve made an actual post about this yet or not!) to point out how Dean-Gunner and Sam-Rino also perhaps reference Dean and Sam’s relationships/feelings about John and Mary respectively. Dean’s fanboying over Gunner reflecting his fanboying over John, while Sam’s idolisation over Rino could reflect an idolisation of Mary. Dean calling Gunner ‘sir’ would fit that reading for sure.
