Lee Soo’s parents were so much happier after they agreed to be friends and got a divorce. In his mind, friendship is more peaceful and meaningful than a relationship because of what his parents went through. So when he wanted to remain friends with Wooyeon, he wanted their relationship to be peaceful, loving and comfortable. He didn’t want to hurt her by being in a relationship because to him, commitment means danger. This is why he can’t sleep at night or have close friends. 

He is overcoming his greatest fears when he is confessing to her because he realized that he would rather be anxious than not have her in his life. Man can’t even sleep with the door closed that’s how traumatized he is.

okay in this situation, neither Lee Soo nor Kyung WooYeon are to be blamed. She is finally trying to regain her confidence after getting rejected by the same guy multiple times. She even says at one point that she just can’t trust his words anymore because no matter what he says she thinks he is falsely leading her on and she just wants to break the toxic cycle. At the same time, Lee Soo is going through his own issues. He thought his attractions towards her were just friendship and he wanted her to be in his life because he, in a way, took her for granted. He couldn’t rely on his parents and he didn’t have any friends. The only person that understood him was Wooyeon and it’s not wrong for him to want her to be in his life. It’s not wrong for him to realize his feelings now. He clearly has trauma related to relationships and he didn’t realize he loved her until she didn’t want to be in his life anymore not because she’s dating the CEO guy. 

Also..... can we talk about the CEO real quick??? Not him pushing his feelings onto her and pretending like he is giving her the time and space to think this through when in fact he is rushing everything??? How did we all not realize that the CEO is the most toxic of them all? When she clearly rejected him and went to Namsan, he didn’t accept her rejection and instead showed up at her house like a creep? From the beginning he kept pushing the idea of “fate” on this relationship when all of the times they met were probably mere coincidences. By putting wooyeon in a position where she has to work with her first love knowing her whole story better than anyone (because he creepily listened to all her feelings when she called him drunk) AND confessing to her randomly because of “fate” he constantly pressured her to pick between himself and Lee Soo. Constantly put her in a position where she was uncomfortable and had to force herself into these situations so she could earn a living. CEO needs to go bye bye.
