talking down a phone through a mask may not be the easiest listening experience. a sinking feeling upon reentry to ... whatever-number-earth this was ( he can never remember ) lead to rushing. it's been some years now, hasn't it. ?? does time even work the same across their universes ?? different, bigger, yet somehow easier questions that he can answer once he's at least tossed a line out.
