Cecilia, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Ce-ceel-ya: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth. Ce. Ceel. Ya.
His eyes drifted over the girl with unwavering curiosity and a tinge of attraction. Charles gave her — Cecilia, that was her name, such a beautiful name — he gave her a smile without even thinking about it and said, “So…. um, this is our new student…. yes?” and leaned back ever-so-slightly on his heels, raising a hand to push his glasses up farther on the bridge of his nose. She was captivating, wasn’t she? Strange, he thought to himself. The man nodded in the direction of the back room and picked up his own guitar, a nice glossy Alvarez acoustic, as she carried hers along behind him. “My name is Charles, but you can call me Buddy, or Charlie, whichever you like,” he said, smiling over his shoulder at her. The man halted at a white door and rested his palm on the handle, twisting slowly as though if he twisted any faster it would awaken some sort of beast lurking on the other side. He held it open for Cecilia and stood against the wall. The room, the lower den in his house, was quite cozy but big enough to move around and occupy a few people. The walls where a pale yellow color and the curtains over the window were the same color. “Sit anywhere you like… uh, or stand. Whatever floats your boat. Make yourself at home…” he nodded, and it was quite noticeable that he was very enamored by her.

Every time I look at her I can't look away. I see the sun in her eyes and the stars in her hair... my Cecilia is the most beautiful thing I have ever laid eyes on. Her voice is sweeter than the freshest sugar, her eyes a brighter blue than the sky above on a cloudless midday. The light of the moon on her skin each night throws me into a fantasy and the sun shining over her every morning pulls my poor soul back into reality. The smile she puts on our son's face is only one that could be put there by her, and no other. She's given me the most meaning to my life, she's saved me a million times over and I'm sure that if I hadn't met her I would have taken myself out of this world by now. I would give anything to make her as happy as she's made me. I love my love and I will refuse to stop loving her like the waves refuse to stop coming forward and kissing the shore, no matter how many times it's pulled back. Cecilia is an archangel, I'm convinced. Every time we're apart my heart breaks with longing for her. My Cecilia is the light of my life and will always be, a light that grows brighter with every passing second.
