Any tips for a beginning BACC?
This ask was sitting in my inbox waaay too long and I’m home at my parents and I’m so bored so I will answer this now. Sorry you had to wait so long!
So here are my tips in no particular order:
1. Think about what you like in your game and change rules accordingly! Maybe you love businesses, maybe you hate them. If you don’t like them, don’t make unlocking stuff dependent on them. Do you want to have townies from the start? No townies at all? Think about what you like in your game and what aspect of it you like the most
2. Think about how random and strict you want to have everything. There are rules out there, where the grades of kids are carefully calculated and sims are created (mostly) by rolling a dice. This can be fun, but it’s not for me.
3. Personalize your game. Try to build everything yourself. Try making all the townies yourself, think about fun, short histories of them if like stories. In my case it makes me way more invested in my game. It is a lot of work, and so much work to set up, but it’s worth it.
4. Write everything down! I love having Spreadheets and I have a Google Spreadsheet open at all time while I play. I write down taxes, rules for careers etc, etc. It will take some time setting up, but it’s seriously such a great tool to keep track of everything
5. At last: Have fun! A challenge should still be fun and let the game decide some things for you. Move as quick or slow as you want.
Hope this helped you (or anyone). I’m not an expert of BACCs, but I thought about mine way too much.
