goddammit there's nothing worse than suddenly questioning whether someone voted for trump bc they said something ambiguous. that happened with my (white) stepdad and I coudn't look him in the eye till he finally told me one day that he'd voted for hillary lmao

yeah she says that she doesn’t really follow politics and i’m not even sure if she voted or not. also whenever my geography professor talks about immigration he says ‘this is what donald trump has to deal with’ and i don’t really know why?? so like this concern has popped up a few times but i’ve never gotten any closure yet

That list you reblogged of 'signs you're evolving' is literally word-for-word signs and symptoms of depression/anxiety. Mental illness is already misdiagnosed enough as it is, and lists like that can be very misleading for someone who should be receiving help but thinks those signs are actually something else!!

yeah I realized that. for me it can feel so comforting to think of my mental illness as fostering some kind of growth tho... although this probably isn’t healthy or true. and it romanticizes mental illness which is terrible. but.. I don’t know.. I see sooome value in that perspective as someone who suffers those symptoms. wouldn’t wanna mislead the undiagnosed tho, and I forget that my blog is not just a diary and actually has the power to impact people..so I’ll delete

Thanks! I love that thought too! I’m only 16 (well, turning sixteen in a week), but if I ever worked somewhere and someone said that I definitely would want to open the gates of hell and unleash that fury.

I noticed this wonderful comic done by Ojiisanholic, with text and idea from facingthewaves and I decided to give it a try with giving a voice to it!

“I want to speak to a manager,” the middle-aged woman said in her stern I-used-to-be-a-soccer-mom-ten-years-ago voice, looking down at me over the top of her Gucci reading glasses.

A wicked grin split across my face and the gates of Hell opened up behind me, releasing a gust of hot wind that whipped my apron around my body and forced the woman to shield her face. Demons came forth, dancing around in flames with songs of, “She wants to speak to a manager. Did you hear that? She wants to speak to a manager!” before erupting into earsplitting shrieks of laughter, none louder than my own cackling.

I took in the woman’s look of utter horror before my eyes rolled back into my head and I growled,

“I am the manager.”
