Hello!

This is @ohdrey89 & welcome to my side blog!

I’ve been an avid movie watcher since my wee beginnings & while others notice cinematography or soundtrack (my first favorite thing about a movie), I am eternally fascinated by the palette of a film. How often ever so subtly or even with unsubtle broad strokes a director or set designer or costume designer will pay attention to color and let color tell the story.

Here you will find my palettes of screen caps from film, tv shows and even costumes. A lot of these colors will be affected by lighting or camera angles so please be kind if the colors aren’t 100% accurate to the colors of the fabrics or backgrounds used. The saturation of Shades and Tints of Hues are sometimes determined by the lighting.

Please feel free to use these palettes as source materials for your own creative endeavors. I don’t need even the credit, color is for everyone to enjoy.

What originally inspired this was my love of a blue dress with a red band Kirsten Dunst wears as Marie Antoinette. (link) I wanted the colors matched for the bathroom in my home when I remodel the bathroom. Once I started making the collages of palettes I couldn’t stop. There are now so many that I felt it necessary to post them somewhere.

4: If you submit a photo and do not want to be credited for the photo please state so because otherwise if there is a username attached to the request, I will credit the username with the submission.
