What should Johnny expect?

SITUATION:  Johnny's brake pedal is very soft, and one day he notices that one of his brake lines is leaking because he sees fluid on his driveway, so he brings it to Integrity Auto for service.  During the inspection, the service staff shows Johnny that not only are his lines leaking, but so are the brake calipers in the front of his car.  Johnny acknowledges the other problem, but asks that we only fix the broken line. QUESTION:  Should Johnny be angry with Integrity Auto for refusing to do only 1/2 the repair, allowing an unsafe condition to continue? GOOD NEWS:  Sometimes putting off needed repairs can be done with little to no harm aside from the risk that you may find yourself stranded.  When it comes to safety, we won't take chances with you or your family's well-being, or the well-being of the other people on the road.  If Johnny wants to risk his life that's one consideration...but we don't have to help him risk the lives of others on the road. If we identify a safety concern & are asked to perform half a fix...we'll clearly tell our customers the dangers involved, and stop before performing ANY service.  We're more intersted in doing a good job than just getting your money.  Please be safe out there...Ohio's winters can be dangerous enough.
