cramps got me wantin to die but I am being. SO brave.
October morning
When you woke up, Jake was still sleeping beside you. You took a moment to take in all of his peaceful beauty, admiring all of his features. The shape of his nose, of his lips. The way his hair fell over a part of his face. The way he looked so calm and quiet when lost in the wonderland of dreams. You didn't want to wake him up while he was asleep. He had a tough week and deserved rest. So you shifted away from his arm around your waist, lifting it up and setting it down as gently as possible. You straightened up, stretching out a bit before throwing your legs on the other side of the bed, your feet making contact with the cold floor for the first time of the day. You got up and realized that it was a chill morning. October was the beginning of the downfall of good weather. So you made your way to the drawer and stole a shirt of Jake's. It was long enough to cover your butt but not entirely. You left the room, leaving the sleeping angel in the dark even though some rays of sunshine managed to force their way through the shutters. You closed the door after you and took a deep breath before letting your feet lead you to the kitchen where you made some coffee. It was a chill but cozy sunday morning. As you took a glance to the weather it seemed like it was going to rain but it was still clear outside while the sun was fighting against the clouds. You propped yourself up on the counter next to the coffee machine and grabbed the book that you left there yesterday evening when Jake came back from the studio. Just Kids by Patti Smith. This book made you escape from your reality. It's so precise and well-described that you could actually see images forming in your head while flicking through the pages. I made you want to leave everything behind and start all over in a foreign city with Jake. When the coffee machine clicked to let you know that your morning beverage was ready, you bookmarked your page and set your book down before coming down from the counter and pouring yourself a cup of the steaming liquid. You took a sip of it and closed your eyes. This was definitely the best moment of the morning, when you took your first sip of coffee and that it drowned all the soreness in your throat that sleep had created. Opening your eyes, you took a look at the living room of your appartement before realizing you had left all the laundry you were supposed to fold. You sighed and made your way to the full bucket. You set your cup of coffee on the coffee table and took the heavy bucket with both hands in order to put it on the larger table in the living room. You then begin your folding but not before turning on the radio. You turned the volume high enough for you to hear it but not enough for it to wake your handsome guitarist up. "And now, here is for y'all who go to work a sunday morning, y'all who just like to turn on the radio in the morning, or even y'all who had a sleepless night: I give to you the peace of Jimmy by Moriarty," the host rambled on. You smiled to yourself as the first notes of the song came out of the radio's speakers. Folding a plaid shirt, you nodded lightly to the rhythm of the sweet song, sometimes even mouthed the lyrics. What a perfect way to begin the day. Swinging your hips gently, you put the third pair of jeans on a corner of the table. "Now that is hot." The voice behind you starteld you and you jumped a bit with surprise, turning your head towards your room. Jake stood there, arms crossed over his bare chest, leaning against the door frame, watching you with heart eyes. A smile crept its way up your cheeks as a pale red tainted them. "You idiot, you scared me," you said in a soft laugh, turning around so you could see him more clearly. Jake returned your smile and made his way to you. "Waking up to my girlfriend folding clothes only wearing my shirt and dancing cutely to one of my favorite songs," he began as he set himself in front of you. "What a perfect way to begin the day." He kissed your forehead and rolled his hands around your waist as you both started to rock to the gentle music. The long-haired man put his chin on your shoulder and took your scent in as you set your hands on his shoulder blades. You both closed your eyes. As the music was dying down to be replaced by Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison, you both pulled back and silently admired each other. "I love you," Jake whispered, forehead against yours. Your gaze was drowining in his own. Your breath caught in your throat like each time he said those three words. Your lips landed quickly on the tip of his nose before whispering back "I love you too." And then you two began to dance to the song after Jake had turned the volume up. He twirled you around and you both laughed out loud as you danced in a goofy way. What a perfect way to begin the day.
