TONY STARK

Indy also requested Tony (sort of) so I guess I have to do it. Sigh.

How I feel about this character: ... He's Tony Stark. He is the primary reason I was excited for the Avengers (though I soon learned). He's a nerd with sass and there's nothing he can't create. Unlike Steve or Thor, he made himself into a superhero using nothing but his wits (and his outrageous fortune. Shhhhh.) and unlike Bruce he wanted to be one. He's an unparalleled mechanical genius in his universe (well, sort of. Marvel universe is riddled with 'unparalleled geniuses') and yet he deigns to be part of a team. He's just self-aware enough to realize how terrible a leader he would be, how much more useful he is as part of a team than alone, and not self-aware enough to realize that he has already gone a long way to paying for his sins, that he doesn't need to try and become his dad, and that if people like Pepper and Rhodey can see the good in him when he's actively trying to hide it, then it must not be as measly as he believes. Enough feels for you?

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Pepper. I can also ship Steve (as in, I can see it working), though I don't see much inspiration for it in (movie) canon.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: TONY AND BRUCE. LAB BROOOOOOS.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Tony is a dick. Yeah, he's covering for a fairly large inadequacy issue, but he's also just a dick. He's plain old arrogant as well as self-conscious, which people often forget because they prefer to see him as just this wounded soul lashing out when anyone gets too close.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish he and Steve could have a conversation about Howard Stark. I think they both need it.

my fem/slash ship: Stony

my OTP: Pepperony.

my OT3: Tony/Pepper/Natasha. Or maybe Tony/Steve/Natasha. Hmm. I will ponder this.

my cross over ship: Tony/Arthur from Inception. They would have great banter. Or maybe Tony/Jack Harkness. Jack would try and bait Tony with tales of his intergalactic exploits, and Tony would be totally unruffled. I guess these aren't ships so much as encounters I wish would happen.

my kink: Not really sure what this is asking, but I like to remember that the arc reactor is always glowing. I wonder if it annoys Steve. Probably not Pepper, because she's lived in glowing, 21st-century New York City for years.

a head cannon fact:

my gender bend: I'd like to see Summer Glau try to play gender-bent Tony, though I'm not sure how well it would work.

Pretty well! They've yet to be tested, and I'd still like to make a few more adjustments, but they're progressing nicely.
