Prologue, One

Her screams were echoing throughout the whole castle. She tried to release herself from the tight grip one her hands but unsuccessfully. Of course they weren't letting go. Even if she somehow managed to escape, she wouldn't be able to run away. Too many men were surrounding her and she has been weakened. The fire hidden inside of her body was trying to take over but the potion guards made her drink was way too strong, holding her powers back. Any attempt to defend herself was worthless.
So there she was, barely walking on her own, being dragged by the Queen's guards for god knows what reason. In a matter of minutes, the girl was unwillingly kneeling in front of someone who was believed to be most powerful person in Nebarando. At least that's what everyone thought. Almost everyone. Only few knew the truth and she was one of them. Their Queen was old and weak, slowly losing the ability to control her powers. Aging was destroying the last bits of energy she had left, making it harder for her to be the ruler people look up to. That's why it had to be kept secret. But the Queen wasn't respected by everyone and one of those people, full of hatred for queen, knew her secret. Therefore she found her dangerous and marked her as her biggest enemy. Girl so young and powerful. Queen feared her. Not only because she knew her weakness.
But right now, the girl was weak, due to the potions they gave her on Queen's order. She couldn't do anything. Queen wasn't ready to let go of her authority and that's why she preferred to humiliate her, make her an outlaw for something she hasn't done.
