5: What part was hardest to write? for Oh, Son of A---
based on how many times I rewrote it? the dragon fight.
based on how long it took to write it? the chapter after the battle.
based on how exhausting it was to write? the battle.
33 : check
just fyi. I’ll not be posting anything else MCU until I get the rest of SofA done. It’s been literally years. You deserve the conclusion.
And I am very very close to having it for you. It should wrap right around 300k and 36 chapters.
this sounds super weird, but...yay! I finally got all the armies there! the stage is fully set! the killing can begin! the fighting! the angst! I have written stuff after this point, but never actually written the catalyst! whoo!
Hey darling!! I was rereading Son of A and I was hoping you could give me a description of Frey’s appearance :)
Ok, I swear there is a description of her through Fili’s totally not biased eye in chapter 20 while they’re out on the docks.
She’s taller than Bilbo, but shorter than the dwarves. Former Softball player, and she’s stocky enough that they thought she might be some kind of dwarf cousin, not waifish and willowy. She’s somewhere around 3b hair. Up until Goblintown her hair is midback, in various forms of braids that she should really have oiled or waxed to keep them controlled. I think I talk about her clothing more than her face, mostly because of an ever present fear of coming over all E’bony raven darkness with an OC.
But this is on my desktop labelled “Frey-ish”
Ok. I use [[[words]]] to mark things that I’m just kinda roughing in as outlines of events right? That way I can move forward to the next thing my brain wants to write, you know? So inside the brackets are the descriptions of scenes, yeah? And I know it doesn’t seem that impressive but dude, there are only 22 of those bastards left in the doc and that’s seriously exciting for me.
Ok bye.
see? proof. writing. slowly. but writing. picked up almost a thousand tonight.
