$8 Billion Wasted per Year in NPT

Excellent quick podcast on the effect of None Productive Time each year on the Oil and Gas industry.  With over $8 billion wasted each year there is clearly a need to better understand NPT and look for ways to reduce the waste.

At Advanced Oilfield Application we believe one key component of the NPT waste is use/transfer of knowledge.  Specifically as there is no need to make the same mistake twice.  But with current knowledge management systems it can be extremely difficult to search and drill down to relevant data within the short time frames given.  Therefore we have designed a system to automatically link important well attributes (depth, temp,...) to lessons learned.  This directly decreases search time and increase relevance.

First Post.

Welcome to the Advanced Oilfield Application Blog, which is linked to the company Advanced Oilfield Application.  The plan is for the blog to be updated on a regular basis with all things interesting in the Oil and Gas Data Analytics side.  Focus will mostly be on operational data analytics but could progress from there.
