OJST T With a Side of POP
My monthly OJST is up and this time I'm talking about taking out my period once and for all with POP! -> Read the whole comic HERE! <- I’ve been excited to share this comic because I’m just so happy that I’ve nixed my period finally! Sometimes a low dose of T just isn’t enough to get rid of your period, but luckily there are options. I’m so grateful to my endo for helping me out and being super supportive. [ID: T With A Side of POP Comic by Jey Pawlik, done in cool minty green tones with heavy blacks and black linework, with an addition of dark reds on page 3 and cool purples on page 4 and 5. Jey is a white nonbinary person with short black cropped hair and big rectangular glasses wearing various plain t-shirts, cozy sweaters and long sleeve tops. Jey’s endocrinologist placeholder is a woman of colour with long wavy black hair, a pleasant smile and wearing a collared shirt with an ID lanyard. Narration: At my testosterone check-up Jey and their endocrinologist sit in a doctor’s office. Endo asks “So, how are things?” Jey responds happily, “Good, I’m really liking my dose and changes.” Endo asks “And your period?” To which Jey puts their hands on their face and looks dreadful and says “UGH! It’s decided to stick around and I’m so sick of it!! It is lighter, but it’s still there.” Endo ponders this and says “Hmm yes, that can happen.” Then makes the suggestion “Well, we can discuss an option to try and get rid of it for good.” Jey perks up excitedly and says “WHA—For real? I’m all ears!!” Endo gestures to a bubble that reads “POP” in bubble letters, with a little can of pop (or soda as some people call it) she tells Jey “Alrighty, I can prescribe you a ‘progestin-only pill,’ or POP—a type of birth control pill that can suppress periods if taken back-to-back and see how that does you.” Jey looks sceptical and responds “Birth control? Hmmm, I dunno…” /end]
