Imagine Abolish postcanon, doing the rounds and checking on all the vamps. Takes him a bit to track down Apo, mostly because she’s not super high on his priority list but also because they Absolutely moved as soon as they got home to avoid anyone from Oakhurst finding her as easy, and it takes a couple years for him to actually show up in her town.
And when he does… he nearly doesn’t recognise her. The white hair and red eyes are like a beacon to anyone hunting vampires, but her entire demeanour is so different from what he knew. They’re laughing as a human in pink teases her for walking into a bush, picking leaves out of their hair as a dog runs in circles at their feet.
He sticks around for a few days, never being noticed, never making contact, and sees her happy. Truely happy, carefree enough to be downright clumsy because they can afford to not pay attention to their surroundings. She has friends, her love, a horse with a stupid name that’s clearly some kind of inside joke, and Abolish slips away satisfied he won’t need to come back for a long time.
