Cruise Ship ‎AU

Going on a cruise with a friend always sounded like it’d be fun: but Shuichi can’t believe it was actually happening. Having heard that Kaede had won tickets for a cruise ship from her last successful piano recital, he secretly hoped she’d invite him, as he of course wasn’t going to actually ask that: so when she did end up inviting him, he was very happy.

He was nervous since it’d be his first time on a cruise ship; but an excited kind of nervous, and he had Kaede with him, so he wouldn’t have to worry about being alone.

Right now, he was outside on the front deck, looking out towards the sea. “I-I still can’t believe I’m actually on a cruise ship... he jokes with a laugh, looking towards her. Th-Thank you again for wanting to invite me, Akamatsu-san! When we eat at the restaurant here later tonight, I’ll pay for us: it’s the least I could do...!”

and how she is so incredibly lost in auradon, because it’s everything she’s not used to. the isle wasn’t too bad for her, but she leaves in order to be there for her best friend, because she loves him. she deals with bright sun that burns her skin, people who don’t really understand why she doesn’t hate her father, and not knowing what she wants to do with her life. just because she wants to be a part of one boy’s life still.

this isn’t to say that she blames him for any of this, because she doesn’t. mac looks at leo, and sees him the happiest he’s ever been. she sees him getting the opportunity to achieve dreams she knows he’s had for years, and she’s so happy to see him get that chance. and the fact that he wants her to be a part of this happiness is probably the biggest reason why she doesn’t seriously consider going back.

but.

this isn’t to say that she doesn’t kinda miss her old life. after high school, mac doesn’t really know what she wants to do with her life, since ‘professional goddess’ isn’t really a career that’d fly when you’re not that popular amongst the ol.ympians. (she jokes that she’s leo’s ‘trophy girlfriend’, but the reality stings a little bit.) and so she bounces from profession to profession, trying to find something that gives her the same satisfaction as the medical field does for him.

she’s lost, and she’s not entirely sure if there is a place for a death goddess in this bright and shiny world.
