1: What does their bedroom look like?

There’s not much in it. It’s a simple room with a bed and dresser. There is a book shelf of books that were too good to simply rent out, and there a small china statue of a dragon on the dresser, just for a little something.

23: How organized are they? How does this organization/disorganization manifest in their everyday life?

He’s very organized. His thoughts are usually in an orderly fashion as are his things. It certainly helps that there isn’t much they own, but the house is constantly looking clean. Not so much it’s odd, but more like a homely feel. The best way to tell if something’s wrong with Seishin is if this slips. He doesn’t like it when his thoughts are jumbled (like when he falls into slumps) and it shows as the house isn’t quite as neat.

26: Do they have any plans for the future? Any contingency plans if things don’t workout?

He has no idea really. Right now his goal is to keep the little family together ad try to find reasons to enjoy this long life he was given. As for the future, he’s rather aimless.

But with Yoshie around, well that might change.

Long ago he too turned on Providence, on Him, and everything He represented. He rejected him, falling victim to the whispers of the darkness instead and embraced them because God hadn’t helped him either. How can you believe in a God when they do not help you? In order to survive, he chose another method to continue to live because he couldn’t accept his death. Because he still had to things to do, but now...there was no one.

He knew that the moment she sat down. Oh well, it’s not like the contact is unwelcomed. He wasn’t really planning on going anywhere anyways. It really wasn’t a big deal.

It’s kind of funny in a way. It reminds him of the cats all claiming a spot on him except it was a small little girl that claimed him all for herself. At least she can make conversation with this cat.

1. Why did you choose your URL? Once upon a time, okiagarii and I were talking timeline headcanons, and we figured out Chizuru would have dyed her hair blonde in 1953 along with a substantial number of Japanese women. We didn’t know why the spike in hair-dyeing occurred, but then we realized that Marilyn Monroe was in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes that year, and the movie was also released in Japan. I looked up the costumes--Marilyn’s outfits were obviously a huge influence on Chizuru’s style. (This was about the time I realized I wanted a Chizuru blog!) 

2. What is your middle name?  The most common middle name for girls of my cohort!

3. If you could own a fairytale / fictional pet, what would it be? A pegasus, I want to fly.

You Are My Fangs {okiagarii}

How beautiful it was. The image of that black cat was burnt into my sight. Such a nimble body, and with eyes like full moons. Gold like mine, true. But I had no fangs like her. And I had no freedom.

On a cloudless night, seven-year-old Ellen woke covered in a cool sweat; her fever had broken. Her joints had tormented her for hours before she had fallen asleep, and her blanket was stained with the fluid that leaked from her cracked skin. Now, moonlight spilled from her window, painting the room an eerie white. Squinting, Ellen could almost imagine the pale light coloring her skin healthy as she’d never seen it. She knew, if only that could ever happen, she would never ask for another thing as long as she lived.

She scratched at the bandages wrapping her face and shifted, seeking some position that didn’t ache. Turning toward the window, her eyes caught a glimpse of a shadow down the alley, like someone standing in the darkness. The shadow moved, and she saw it was a girl in a long dress, looking up through the gaps in the houses. She stood near the place Ellen had seen the black cat leap. No one should be standing there, she felt. Though Ellen saw people hustle through that alley every day, the space felt almost sacred at such a quiet hour.

Ellen longed to be there outside, in the place of the girl standing there with her face turned to the sky. She herself could hardly remember what it looked like, but the night sky must be filled with stars. 

Inside, the air of the house was choked with fish-oil smoke from a lamp that had burned out hours ago. Ellen propped herself up a little higher to watch the girl outside, stifling feeble coughing against a threadbare sleeve.
