Being a part of this team was amazing, saving animals with some of my closest friends was what kept me going. Although I know I am becoming distracted. Distracted by Jay, our team captain and overall head of the ALF. It’s not very professional of me, but I can’t stop my eyes from wandering over to him every second I get a chance. I’ve become a liability in the field and it's been eating me up inside because I know Jay doesn't like when our job isn’t done properly or when we make mistakes. These things usually cause more harm than good. Like the Okja fiasco that happened when K knowingly chose to translate what Mija had spoken.
I have been waiting for the day he notices and kicks me out, strips me of my ALF membership forever. I just never thought that day would be today.
We were on another mission, still trying to take down the Mirando Corporation. While the others were out buying supplies, I was sitting at the small dining table in the Airbnb we were renting out. On a side note, this place was a lot nicer than the roach motels we usually stay at. Papers were scattered over the entire surface of the table, I was looking over the information we had gathered, sorting it into piles to then sort those piles into folders. It was tedious work but it was part of my job.
“Hey, do you mind coming with me for a moment? I need to talk with you.” I was startled out of my thoughts by the voice behind me. Almost jumping out of my chair I turned around to face Jay.
“Yeah, sure.” I agreed, following him through the house, up the stairs, and to the room he had been staying in.
As we entered he closed the door silently, then turned to face me. He was quiet for a moment, sighing as he threaded his fingers through his long black hair. “I’ve been noticing for a while that you seem to not be putting in one hundred percent like you used to.” Another sigh. “I’m sure I don’t have to tell you what happens when we aren’t on point all the time.”
I just nodded in response, afraid if I tried to speak, my voice would fail me.
“Do you want to tell me what seems to have taken up so much more of a priority than this organization?” His tone wasn’t harsh, but the underlying tone of his words was.
Taking a deep breath, I tried to think of what to tell him without actually telling him that he was what had taken up my attention. “I-I’m sorry,” I finally stuttered out. “I know it isn’t much of an excuse but I’ve just been distracted. A lot on my mind.” I offered a small lopsided smile.
“Yes, I get that, but I want to know exactly what.” He crossed his arms. I took a breath as the rolled-up sleeves of his white button-down traveled further up his arms.
“It’s nothing Jay, really.” Nerves making my voice unsteady.
“Now, I don’t believe that. I thought we all agreed to no secrets except for our names?” He took a step towards me.
“Jay, please. It’s personal, I really don’t want to disclose what it is.”
“I wish you would tell me,” His eyes were soft. “You know that I can’t keep you on this team if I can’t know for sure that you will still be able to do your job with, or without these personal distractions.” He took a few more stems until he was directly in front of me. “B,” he said my code name softly.
“Please, you can't kick me out. This is my life, this team is my life. I don’t know what to do without this.” My hands gestured out widely.
“Then tell me what it is.” He was becoming more insistent.
“No, I can’t.”
“Tell me.”
“No.”
“Fine. You leave me with no choice.” The look on his face as he turned to walk back to the door almost killed me. The disappointment in the eyes of someone I loved. He left me standing in his room, dumbfounded and the fact I was going to lose the job I loved the most, the friends I truly considered family. All because I was distracted by him and I couldn’t admit it to his face lest I ruin our work dynamic with my feelings.
God, my mother was right. Never fall in love with a coworker. It just leads to heartbreak, no matter what route you take. Thinning my options over, I finally came to a decision. I would rather ruin what cordial work relationship Jay and I have than lose my entire family.
Wiping away the tears that had welled up in my eyes after Jay had left, I ran after him.
“Jay, wait,” I called from the top of the stairs. He appeared at the bottom within five seconds. His eyes looked up at me, green and waiting. “You.”
“Me?” He asked, confused.
“Yes, you. You are what has been distracting me, or more specifically, my feelings for you.”
“I- uh. Excuse me?” He seemed to be confounded. “What feelings?
“Well, Jay, it started so suddenly, the feelings of love that flooded my heart and my head every time you were near me. It’s only gotten worse over the last few months. I can’t stay focused because you are always around me and when you are, you consume my every waking thought. I’ve tried, trust me, I’ve tried to stop it. I know these feelings aren’t professional and they have no business displayed so carelessly to you now, but I really don’t want to lose the only family I have now because I happened to fall in love with you and didn’t want to tell you. So I am willing to bear my heart and put my feelings on the chopping block. If this changes how you view me from now on, then so be it, but please don’t kick me out, I'm begging you.” And there it was. I poured my heart and soul out to him on those stairs, my voice was raw from pushing through the tears and the ball forming in my throat.
He didn’t say anything for a long time. He just stood on the bottom step, leaning with one hand on the banister. The house was so quiet I was afraid he would be able to hear the pounding of my heart loud and clear. The only movement he made in those hour-long minutes was to run his fingers through his hair again, something he did when he was thinking.
“You, me?” I had never heard him so lost for words. He pointed a finger up at me and then turned it back on himself.
“Yes. I love you.” I confirmed his selectively worded question.
Slowly he started to ascend the stairs. I watched wide-eyed as he stopped on the stair below me, we were now almost at eye level. “Can you uh, can you say that again?”
“I love you?” No sooner had the words left my mouth than he had my head in his hands and was bringing me into him. A shocked gasp left my lips as they met his.
They were softer than I had imagined, and so was his hair. My hands had wrapped around his neck, fingers curling into his hair. I could feel his thumbs caressing the sides of my face as he kept kissing me.
I pulled away, only for Jay to follow me. “Jay, stop for a second, I need to catch my breath.”
“You don’t know how happy I am to have heard you say that.” He gave me a peck on each cheek. I just raised my eyebrows in question. “I will admit, I’ve had a thing for you since you joined the ALF, but only recently has it turned to something more.”
I smiled widely, hardly able to contain the excitement of my feelings being requited. “Does this mean I can-”
“That you can stay? Yes, but, and this is a big but, you need to try and stay focused on missions from here on out. Just because I run this organization does not mean that I can give you special treatment.”
“Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!” I exclaimed, kissing his lips in gratitude. He hummed in contentment, moving his hands from my face to where they would clasp around my waist, pulling me forward into him.
Maybe my mother was wrong after all and there is that one small road that leads to happiness.

Summary/Request: You met Jay through ALF and you both fell for each other. It just took you a while to admit it.

You and Jay had been friends for years. You met when you had joined ALF and had watched as he worked his way up to being a team leader. You couldn’t deny that he deserved it. He was a natural born leader, right down to the way he carried himself. His only flaw was his temper, which flared whenever someone on the team didn’t do things his way.
You yourself had retired from ALF after you nearly died on a mission. You’d woken up in the hospital, Jay holding one of your hands in his, eyeing you with his big green eyes. Even after you recovered, he seemed changed, shaken up. You thought it was odd, considering he didn’t react this strongly when one of the others got hurt. But after that, you decided to pack it in. You’d expected Jay to be angry with you since he always said how vital you were to ALF, but he was completely supportive, helping you get a job at a local animal rights organization.
But you couldn’t deny that you missed him and worried about him constantly. You wanted to be strong and not let him know that you were concerned because you knew how much he loved it, but you couldn’t help it. Add to that the fact that you’d nursed a crush on him for a while, but thankfully, he had no idea.
But you missed how he always volunteered to pair up with you on missions and always made sure you stayed in hotel rooms with him as you traveled around. This had started when you’d let on how safe you felt with him and how much you enjoyed his company. Before that, he’d been shy around you, something you’d never expected from someone who could easily command a room.
Jay was between missions with some time off, so he’d decided to fly out to visit you. You were happy to pick him up at the airport. You waited at baggage claim, standing on your tippy toes to try to spot his tall, lanky frame. Sure enough, he rounded a corner, wearing his trademark suit and tie, which was slightly rumpled from the journey. He cast his eyes around the room, searching for you. You waved your arm over your head and the movement got his attention.
He ran to you and scooped you up in his arms, spinning you around. You laughed, making him laugh with you. Finally, he put you down, but kept his arms wrapped around you, looking you up and down as if checking you over for injuries.
“How are you?” He asked, seeming like he really cared about the answer.
You smiled. “I’m good! How are you?”
“Tired,” he blurted out and laughed.
“Well, I have a bed for you to sleep in, so follow me,” you said, grabbing his bag from him, even as he frowned.
“I’d follow you anywhere,” he said, letting his green eyes linger on you for a second longer than necessary. You felt your cheeks heat up and you prayed he didn’t notice.
You drove him back to your apartment. He talked the whole way about the different missions he’d been on since you’d last seen him. You loved to watch as he lit up when he spoke about his work. Even though you missed him, you couldn’t imagine him giving up traveling with ALF for anything or anyone. It was what he loved the most.
When you reached your apartment, you showed him the guest room. He threw his stuff down and looked at the bed.
“You wanna nap, don’t you?” You asked, smirking.
“Yeah,” he admitted, glancing back at you.
“Go for it. I have some stuff to do for work anyway,” you said.
“Why don’t you lie with me instead?” He asked.
Your stomach swarmed with butterflies. But still, you nodded. “Okay.”
You settled down in bed with him. He’d changed out of his suit into a t-shirt and sweatpants, a sign he was shedding the persona that the rest of the world saw and just being himself.
You found yourself drifting off, even as you mentally went through all the things you had to do for work. The bed was comfortable and even though Jay wasn’t touching you, you could feel his body heat next to you and his even breathing lulled you to sleep.
You awoke sometime later, Jay having rolled over to face you. His green eyes watched you as you blinked awake.
“Hi,” he whispered.
You smirked. “Hey stalker.”
His cheeks turned red and he averted his gaze.
“I was just kidding,” you said, partly missing the way his eyes seemed to drink in every part of you.
“I know,” he said, offering you a small smile.
You felt his hand creep towards you beneath the covers, coming to wrap lightly around your thigh. Your pulse quickened and you glanced up at him. His green eyes were uncertain, an unspoken question lurking there. You nodded, relaxing into his touch as his thumb traced circles on the flesh exposed by your shorts.
You both leaned into each other. You watched his eyes flutter shut as yours did too. After what felt like an eternity, his lips met yours, soft at first, but then with more hunger. You parted your lips to welcome his tongue as he brought his hand up to stroke your cheek.
--
After that first kiss, you and Jay had sort of an unspoken arrangement. When you were apart, you were both free to be with whoever you wanted, but when he came home, you were his and he was yours. Jay had reasoned that it wouldn’t be fair to make you commit to him when he was gone all the time. He wanted you to live your life. Little did he know that all you wanted was to have him always, but you kept telling yourself that you couldn’t ask him to give up traveling with ALF, knowing he’d do it in a heartbeat if you brought it up. It wouldn’t be fair.
But it was frustrating. You felt like you were waiting, always waiting. If you were honest, you didn’t want to see anyone else, even while he was away. You only wanted him. And even though he looked at you as if you’d hung the moon, you wondered how much of his relationship with you was purely physical, if it was just a way for him to have his cake and eat it too.
He was home again, this time for a very short time, so he’d agreed to get a hotel. You’d thought it was just as well. You couldn’t help the resentment you’d built up towards him over time and you weren’t sure you could take another night of wondering whether he was just using you.
“I’m at my hotel if you’d like to come over. I want you,” he texted.
“Sorry, can’t. Work stuff,” you texted back.
You sighed, putting your phone down and returning your attention to your laptop, where you were currently writing a report for work. It wasn’t due anytime soon, but you told yourself it was best to get it done and that it had nothing to do with distracting yourself from going to Jay.
About an hour after he texted you, a knock sounded on the door. You weren’t expecting anyone, but you went to see who it was. You swung the door open and there was Jay, his trademark suit rumpled as if he hadn’t changed since getting to his hotel. He eyed you warily, his lower lip jutting out ever so slightly. It was almost enough for you to invite him inside and let yourself forget, getting lost in his kiss and his hands on you. Almost.
You frowned at him. “Jay? What are you doing here? I told you I had work stuff.”
He sighed, raking his fingers through his jet black hair. “I know, but I had to see you. I…I just wanted to make sure we were okay.”
“We’re fine, Jay. Just…go back to your hotel.”
“I thought you’d be happy to see me,” he whispered, sounding so broken.
“I am—”
He shook his head, his gaze hardening as he cut you off. “No, you’re not. I know you better than that. I just don’t understand. I’ve been gone for almost a year, I thought you’d—”
You cut him off. “That’s right, you’ve been gone for almost a year. Did you really think I’d wait around forever for you?”
“No, but—but I just…”
“That’s what I thought.” You started to close the door, but he put a hand up and started towards you, making you pause.
“Y/N, wait. Please. I’d give it all up for you, I swear,” he said. He held your gaze for a moment, as if to emphasize that he meant it.
You shook your head, biting your lip. “I can’t ask you to do that.”
“You’re not asking, I’m offering,” he whispered, his green eyes pleading with you.
“You love it too much.”
“But I love you more.”
“You’d resent me.”
He shook his head, smiling gently at you. “I’d never resent you for a choice that I made. Now stop arguing and kiss me.”
With that, you were all out of reasons why this was a terrible idea, so you did as you were told, closing the distance between you and Jay. You tugged on his collar to pull him into your apartment as your lips met his. This kiss was unlike any you’d shared with Jay. It tasted like new beginnings and promises of the future.
HI i hope i’m not too late for blurb night but just like ANYTHING even remotely smutty to do with jay from okja PLEASE i am down so bad for him and yet i can’t find any good fics (also im sorry if that’s too vague i’ve never requested anything before<333)
not vague at all ! thank u for requesting<3 sorry it's so short, but I've got a couple of jay ideas brewing so look out for more<3
You’re in a closet in an office building and Jay’s got you pushed against the door.
Lips wet as he kisses you, nose pushing into your cheek, so warm on top of you that you let yourself get lost in it. Doesn’t matter that there are people looking for you. Doesn’t matter that you’re sure they’ve called the police.
Doesn’t matter, because his big palms are intoxicating, as they slide down your body, slipping over your waist, over your thighs, feeling every inch of you -- hidden under your tight clothing.
Tongue pushing against yours, swallowing down your gasps, groaning quietly, saying, god, as he slips his hand under your ass, dragging your thigh up and around him.
“What was it? What did I do?” you whisper, half-lidded eyes barely seeing him chase your lips. You were blindsided. Rushing down a corridor and next thing you knew, you were in a janitor’s closet, being kissed by your boyfriend. You were panicked at first – going, Jay, what the fuck? – but he’s consumed you. It’s his talent, really.
“Been like this all morning,” he mumbles.
“Really?”
He nods. Runs his red, wet mouth over your cheek and buries his head in your neck, sucking at the tender skin under your jaw. “Fuck,” you hiss quietly, eyes clenching closed.
God, why was he so good at this? so good at having you under his thumb. Desperate hands grab at his buttoned shirt, slowly pulling it out of his trousers. The fabric drags out from under his belt.
“Not here,” he groans, but his voice isn’t very confident. His hands collect yours though, keeping them locked against you as he sucks a bruise into your throat.
“You sure?” you whisper, stretching to give him better access.
“Yeah.”
You smile, “We’ve done it before.”
But Jay jolts. Hand snapping up to cover your mouth. His eyes, flooded with panic, look at the door behind you, then comes the sound. “I think they went this way!” followed by shuffling, at least three bodies moving at speed.
His eyes find yours, and a slow smile spreads across his mouth, “Think they’ve made the decision for us.”
An~ I needed a tiny break from through the years, I'm writing the new chapter now, I just needed a little bit of variety. This is just a really fluffy and sweet fic about snuggling with him and making him feel better. I'm not comfortable writing full on smut sorry If that upsets you. Also he's so pretty in this gif I drew him💀 this happens after he beats the shit out of K😭
"Come to bed Sweetheart." You kissed Jay's earlobe and wrapped your arms around him from behind. "You could use it." You smile, kissing and caressing his cheek softly. He doesn't answer, instead he turns to burry his head into your shoulder. You run your fingers through his hair gently.
"I'm sorry." Jay mumbles as you begin running your hand down his back comfortingly, "I'm sorry. I was, am, really mad at him for doing that to her." You lift his head to face you.
"I know darling. I am too. Let's just get to bed, okay? We could use a good night's sleep. Yeah?" You quietly offer, he nods. You lead him to the bed, getting in the opposite side of him.
You both lay on your sides, facing the same direction. You wrap your arms around him again, spooning him. You start kissing the nape of his neck, he begins snuggling closer into you, tangling your legs together.
"I'm sorry." He sighs, "I shouldn't have done that to him." Jay's voice is full of regret and guilt. Truth be told, you were actually little bit afraid of him when he hurt K. You'd never seen him that angry before, it was rare for him to be angry at all, when he was he'd only ever show you. The Jay you'd always known had never and would never hurt a single living thing, so to see him beat his own friend like that was extremely out of character for him.
"Don't worry about it right now sweetheart. Well figure everything out in the morning. Right now, just focus on me. You're in my arms, and you're safe, nothing can harm you, or anyone else. Just let the world melt away, just you and me." You soothed, kissing his shoulder.
"I know, but that poor girl, she must've been so confused, and scared, and it's our fault." He whispers quickly. You shush him comfortingly, snuggling your cheek into his hair.
"Just you and me darling. Hey, at least there's one good thing to come from this whole thing." You smile against his cheek.
"Wait, what?" He moves his head to face you. You kiss him softly, catching him by surprise.
"I finally got you to be little spoon!" You squeeze him tightly, snuggling into him, he chuckles lightly.
"I love you." He smiles fondly up at you, cupping your cheek in his hand. You kiss the bottom of his palm.
"I love you too, sweetheart."
~~
After the plan was made, you and Jay took a quick moment together before you had to part ways for the plan.
He kissed you feverishly, holding you tight, trying to prolong the inevitable.
"I don't want to leave you." He sucks on your neck desperately.
