Which meant you had to return to the dreaded office with your painfully unfunny coworkers, after dropping Suki off to daycare. The worst and least favorite part of both your mornings. Suki was already hiding somewhere in the house to delay having to go.
Suki never came around to the idea of daycare, always frowny and pouty while you helped her get dressed in the mornings.
Even more frowny when you dropped her off , which made you emotional every single time without fail. Her cute little face should never look so... betrayed.
The thought has your shoulders slumping a bit, "It's just a few minutes. You can handle a few minutes of upset Suki.." you murmured to yourself, leaving the bathroom.
While moving around your room, you lay out your clothes for the day, continuing to get ready for work. Your hair was already pinned back and rolled into a neat bun, lashes were veiled with light mascara, and a sheer gloss on your lips.
Can't wear too much makeup at the office, they're allergic to women serving cunt. 'Disturbance to the workplace' they say. You always thought it was a dumbass fucking rule, so you found your ways around that with your outfits.
The fitted blazer, white button up, and dress pants you pull on conform to your body, making you look somewhat more curvy than your usual thickness, your mom bod in all of its beautiful alluring glory.
You grin, walking over to the mirror, checking yourself out from different angles. The side, the front, and then the back; "Damn." you rub the curve of your hips and ass reverently, expression full of smug assuredness. Still that girl.
After ogling yourself enough, you leave your room to look for the hiding little girl around the house. You had about ten minutes before your schedule for the day would be thrown off.
"Suki? Where are you cuddle-bug?" Your voice echoes through the halls as you look at all her regular hiding spots.
Behind the couch. Not there.
A sigh leaves you as you stand from the back of the couch, there's only one place left for her to be.
Under your bed. You still have no idea how she squeezes herself under there, but she does somehow.
You keep your steps light when you enter your room, getting down on your knees and shimmying as best as you can under the bed. Only half your body can fit, but that's more than enough for you to see Suki's tiny frame lying in the dark.
"Hiding from me?" You poke her side playfully, a light smile on your face. Suki doesn't move an inch, only glancing at you with a deep frown, blinking. Your smile falters a little bit, but you continue speaking anyway; "I know when I was little, I hid when I didn't want to do something too. All the time… but you know what my mommy told me one day?"
A shake of her head. "No…"
"My mommy told me that hiding doesn't stop things from happening, even if you want it to. And then when its done, you don't have to worry about it anymore for the day. I know you don't like daycare- but as soon as it's over I'll be there to hug you and hold you,"
The image of your mother comforting you as a child is a distant memory, but you can still recall it all the same. How safe she made you feel, and how much fun you had together when you returned home. That's all you can hope for your own daughter to feel with you.
"After that we can go home and cuddle while reading your books. Just like you like." you whisper gently, caressing her head to the best of your ability with the limited space. "Sound good?"
"..okay mommy." Suki reluctantly agrees, still looking sad, but not pouting as much anymore. She shifts, now in front of you, still on her stomach. You can see the unshed tears brimming her eyes, glistening on her waterline—even in the darkness. "Pwomise?"
A pain right to your chest. You let out a fond exhale, wiping her cheeks. "I promise, baby. I'll get us some snacks too."
That makes Suki's eyes light up, cheeks puffed up as she smiles, "Pink?" Her favorite snack comes in a pink bag that she loves. It's the only snacks she likes to eat, she'd cry if it was a different one.
"Yes, I can get you the pink snacks." You chuckle, smiling at her again. "Now let's get from under here before I get stuck and can't make it to work."
After the two of you wiggle from under the bed, you take a moment to make sure there's no lingering dust on either of your clothes, then getting both of your shoes on.
You grab Suki's lunchbox and your briefcase in one hand, holding Suki's in the other. "Okay.. don't think I'm forgetting anything…" your eyes scan the living room one last time, you had everything you needed, so you were good to go.
Loading Suki and your things into the car, you buckle her into her carseat, then get in the drivers seat and start the drive to her daycare.
During the drive, the car is mostly quiet aside from the occasional "Look mama!" from your daughter and your casual reply of "I'm driving, baby," or "Oo, I see!" all the way until you reach the daycare.
The two of you walk up to the door, Suki's hand squeezing yours in a death grip when you start talking to her teacher. She wished she could just go to work with you so she didn't have to be here with these other kids who can barely talk and don't understand personal space.
"Alright she's all signed in!" The lady's voice pulls Suki from her zoned out state, her head turning to look up at you. Already? That meant you were leaving soon and she wouldn't see you for hours. Her face was already crumpling into a sullen visage.
Suki blinks a few times until you crouch down, pressing a firm kiss to her forehead and pull her into your arms. Calming. Reassuring. Safe. It's barely a second after when Suki returns your embrace, pressing her face into your collarbones. She'll miss you a lot.
But she's a big girl, and when you pick her up you'll have snacks and read together. Daycare won't be that bad for a few hours. Time spent with you afterwards makes up for it.
You nearly coo when Suki's arms tighten again around your neck, rubbing her back. "I'll be back in a few hours, I love you, my sweetie." Your words are murmured into her hairline peppering two more kisses there.
"I love you too, mama… miss you." Suki whimpers, melting into your hold. The two of you stay like that, holding each other until Suki's heart rate slows down enough to tell you that she's calm.
You pull back from the hug with one last squeeze, "Take a deep breath in," you inhale deeply, watching as your daughter mirrors you, "and out," Suki exhales as you do, looking more at ease now.
Her daycare teacher walks over, taking Suki's hand and gives you a brief grin with a wave. "Bye mom!" Suki stares over at you when you stand, mimicking her teacher's gesture. "Bye mama…"
"You'll have a wonderful day, I know it." You smile sweetly, returning the waves. "Bye baby, I'll be back to pick you up at 3:30." You wait until her teacher escorts her into the back to turn and leave, sighing heavily when you get back into the car.
You already knew your workday was going to be fucked when your signature parking spot was taken. From there it could only get worse. You snatch your briefcase from the passenger seat, briskly entering the building with a quick greeting to the front desk administrator.
No time to take the elevator, unfortunately. You rush up the stairs, excusing yourself as you push past unknown coworkers narrowly making it to your cubicle right as the clock hits 8:30 am.
Just barely made it. At least that means you won't start the day behind.
Time passes by as slow as snails trail along the ground.
Your day of work so far has been filled with: a virtual meeting discussing the company's monthly bill on donuts, typing out invoices for your bosses, and responding to emails from your trainees on how to fix their incorrect formulas.
All simple daily tasks in your field, but nevertheless annoying and repetitive. By the time you finish said tasks, it's almost half past noon, your boss emailing you to take all of your finished files up to the twentieth floor.
Gathering all sixty of the sheets from the printer while it gradually churns out the papers just bores you further, and you find yourself dragging your feet while you go deliver the stuffed folder.
You walk to the elevator with the folder in hand, pressing the button for the twentieth floor. The ride up is only a few seconds, a ding! sounding when the elevator comes to a stop and the doors open.
You stroll down the hall to the filing room, careful to avoid your coworkers who all seem to have coffee in hand and no paperwork. Were you the only one in this company who does any actual labor? Lazy ass employees.
You scoff, turning to leave the room… only for a man to bump into you, spilling his coffee over your white top and partially on the floor.
Which also makes you slip and land right on your ass. Great. You lift your head to shoot a glance at the man, only for him to already be walking away with red cheeks after muttering "sorry!" What a dickhead.
You could live through this, as long as nobody saw it. The muted laughter echoing in the halls only confirms the worst. People did see you bust your ass after getting coffee spilt on you. This is so fucking embarrassing. And coffee stains are a bitch to clean.
Your face is steadily warming as you pull yourself up from the wet floor, tugging your blazer to conceal where your bra is starting to show through your dampened top. You can hear the muted laughter and chatter of those at their desks nearby, and some stifling giggles in the conference room to your left.
Speed walking down the hall and back to the elevator, the sounds of peoples whispers and chuckles has your shame growing. "This is so humiliating.." you murmur, repeatedly clicking the button for the doors to close. Why the fuck is the elevator taking so long all of a sudden?!?
When the doors open at last, you step in, already feeling the stinging of tears welling in your eyes— you had to get the fuck out of here before you started crying. You wouldn't survive people seeing you fall and cry because of said fall all at once.
Grabbing your briefcase and phone from your cubicle, you nearly sprint to leave the building. It was only two o'clock, you realized as you got in the car. Trying to contain your tears further? Practically impossible in the privacy of your car.
It starts with a sniffle. A tear falling. Then another. A wet sob leaving your lips, tears streaming freely down your cheeks. Lungs caught in a combination of anxious gasps and hiccuped sobs.
Sobs that don't stop until you have no tears left, throat raw from the force of your cries, mascara smudged, and your sclera and waterline dusted a bright red. A look at your phone has you staring at yourself, you looked a mess.
"Fuck me." you groan, using the sleeve of your blazer to wipe at your makeup. Hopefully Suki doesn't notice how wrecked you look when you pick her up.
Suki does notice. The dryness in your voice while you check out with her teacher. How red your eyes are compared to this morning. Your smile tight and forced, and hand shaking while she holds it.
Not regular happy mama, something happened today. It's clear in your walk and sullen face.
Even when you get home and change into something more comfortable, grabbing her snack and book like you promised earlier; it doesn't feel right. Suki watches you as you start to read to her, not even concerned with her favorite pink snack bag in her lap.
"Hm?" Your hum sounded different, too. Suki felt like you were barely seeing her when you turned to look at her. Your gaze made her brows pinch together in thought.
If only she could verbalize what she wants to tell you. How you're her anchor. That you're the best mommy ever. You needed to hear something to make you feel better—like you always do for her. "Mama…sad." Suki whispers, looking up to you as she scoots closer to you.
You shake your head, trying to ease her worry. "Mama's not sad… just…" a heavy sigh leaves you. How do you even word the emotions you're in war with? Or explain that you were crying because of an accident?
A two year old shouldn't have to deal with her mom's emotions. "I just had a bad day. Mama's okay, I promise." your voice is quieter now, almost ashamed to admit that you weren't okay. You try to keep her out of your issues as best as possible. Try to stay strong for her.
Suki watches as you turn away from her, avoiding her all scrutinizing intense toddler stare. You really must've had a bad day if you don't want to look at her. She can't comfort you in a verbal way, but she can comfort you in the way she's familiar with.
Suki tugs the caterpillar book from your hands, letting it fall to the floor. "It ok, mama." She climbs into your lap, lying her head on your chest, little arms wrapped around you as best as they can.
And when she lets out a contented breath, nuzzling into you while rubbing your arm? You break.
You really try your best not to make your crying obvious to Suki, but she can feel the subtle stutter of your shoulders and lungs, wetness on her shirt, and hear your quiet sniffs. Maybe you'll feel better now, Suki knows she always does when you hold her.
You stay like that for a long while; holding your daughter, and her embracing you in return. The rest of the week could be bearable with her to come home to.
It can't get any worse than today, is what you told yourself that night as you and Suki cuddled together in your bed.
Of course, the universe proved you wrong with the following days.
Tuesday; You missed your alarm, throwing off your entire schedule. Suki was late to daycare, you were late to work, and as a punishment your boss drowned you excessive files from trainees with multiple errors for you to fix.
Another day you ended crying in bed- alone this time. You made sure Suki was already tucked in before you broke down for the second day in a row.
Passing out after your sobbing, having no time to realize you'd missed a call from Sukuna.
Wednesday; An elder colleague at work your boss said to check over was extremely patronizing to you despite all of their work being done incorrectly, and they didn't stop their condescending comments until you'd clocked out for the day and left the building.
It was beyond frustrating to deal with. No crying that night, but you were extremely burnt out.
Too exhausted to reply to Sukuna, again.
Thursday; was pathetic. You'd called Sukuna back in the morning, at last having a chat about the date's details, before Suki took over and babbled about whatever was on her mind to her dad.
Not that you minded, it was adorable to witness. That was a good highlight of your morning. What wasn't quite so nice, was the scolding you'd gotten from your boss because of the aforementioned old ass coworker lying about the day before.
You spent your lunch break in your car, in tears.
Your week was unbelievably awful, but it was finally the day of your date with Sukuna. Friday night. The babysitter, Rin— one of your neighbors, had already arrived right after you'd gotten Suki to sheep.
"Hey, thanks for doing this last moment. Feel free to eat what you'd like in the fridge- and I'll pay you half now, half when I get back." You smile at her, grabbing some money out of your purse then handing it to her.
Rin's made herself comfortable on the couch, a polite but interested smile painted on her face. "Are you going on a date? You never dress up like this." She raise a brow playfully, putting the money in her pocket.
And dressed up you were. You had on a low-cut black maxi dress that hugged your body gorgeously, accentuating your plush curves and giving your cleavage an extra boost. Gold jewelry adorned your wrists, neck, and ears—with a casual black heel on your feet.
You looked luxuriously sensual. Sex appeal wrapped in black and gold.
"I am," you hum, grinning as you check the time. "He should be here in like… 15 minutes"
"Mm.. who's the guy, if you don't mind me asking?" Rin said sheepishly, watching as you sauntered to the front door.
Right as you open your mouth to respond, the low rev of an engine coming to a stop outside gives you pause. Sukuna was here, ten minutes before he said he would be. You do your best to ignore the ridiculous flutter your heart does in anticipation.
You clear your throat, grabbing your purse. "Uh.. Suki's dad, actually." Saying that aloud to another person is something you used to be apprehensive to yet it comes out all too easily now.
The knock at the door interrupts Rin's response, causing you to give her an apologetic grin as you open the door. The sight you're met with is ravishing.
Sukuna stands tall in his own black dress suit, muscles barely disguised under the fabric, strong thighs thick against his pants. A bouquet of roses in one of his hands, and his clear piercings switched out for the regular silver jewelry, made obvious with the contrast of his hungry smile on his handsome face.
He takes a step inside as he says your name, making sure to drag his eyes over you slowly, saving the image in his mind for a later time. "You look… enticing." Sukuna murmurs, forcing his gaze to meet yours, offering you the flowers.
"Beautiful." Sukuna clears his throat, tips of his ears red as he corrects himself. "I don't want you to think this is all lust- you really do look gorgeous."
Now it's your turn to be shy, you look away from him for a moment, your smile turning soft and bashful. "Thank you.. you look alluring. Handsome."
Sukuna really did look good, it was already making something low in your stomach tingle and churn with desire. Unbeknownst to you, he was feeling the exact same uncomfortable sensation burning deep in his core.
The two of you are stuck for a second, just a moment where you're taking in each others attention like it's the first time meeting all over again.
The small changed details in the past two and a half years, like you're really seeing each other. It almost feels like falling for each other again in some sudden push of fate. Whatever it is, it feels good.
"I.. we should get going." You break the silence, still softly smiling at Sukuna who coughs lightly in an attempt to snap out of his trance, nodding. "You're right."
Sukuna holds the door open for you and gawks at you behind your back, the swing of your hips and curve of your body mesmerizing him. "No lusting." Sukuna mutters to himself, shaking his head. He closes the door behind him, following after you in a brisk stride, opening the car door for you too.
Back inside, Rin is sitting on the couch appalled at the entire scene she witnessed. It was obvious to her that if you two weren't back together yet, you would be soon.
A classy jazz bar is where Sukuna takes you, one of his favorite spots to spend his off weekends. The bar is settled in warm toned lights, has a great live band, and isn't ever full to capacity. He comes on Fridays, taking in the music and atmosphere, having a light drink or a meal. He thought you'd enjoy it for your date.. and if things go right, you two will end up dancing together.
The building isn't too crowded, which leaves you and Sukuna more than enough options of seating. You scan the area, spotting a dimly lit table in the corner. A private setting to match the sensuous tension between you. "There's good." you nod at the corner.
Sukuna takes your hand, leading you to the table, his usual smirk replaced with a softer grin. "Words can't describe how I'm feeling," he says while grabbing a menu, placing it in front of you. "I'm glad you agreed to this."
"I don't think I have words, either, this place is so… beautiful." your voice is a dulcet tone in Sukuna's ears, swirling with the smooth tempo as the band starts their new set. An ideal song for slow dancing.
"You come here often?" You ask as you set the menu aside, more interested in the statuesque view of him in front of you. Taking in all of him once again; his sharp eyes and jaw, thick nose, and those broad shoulders underneath his suit…
Stay strong. Don't let your celibacy control your mind… even if you really really craved some intimacy.
Your thighs are squeezing by the idea of having someone after so long— having Sukuna and all his hulking body on top of you… making you forget about your shitty week…
The small shaky breath you let out goes unnoticed by Sukuna, much to your satisfaction. Can't get caught daydreaming about that. You shouldn't jump right into sex. No matter how much your body burns for it and your hormones chant that you need it.
He nods, still eyeing you with that gentle grin, doing his best to keep his gaze above your sternum. "I come on the weekends if I feel like it, this place plays great jazz if you wanna dance-" Sukuna grunts, looking out to the open floor, "if you'll dance with me."
The suggestion makes you hum idly in response, lips curling into a smile, "We can dance later, let's talk first." Your elbow is on the table now as you lean forward, resting your head on your palm and exposing a bit more of your cleavage inadvertently.
In this moment, you are the forbidden fruit Sukuna has to restrain himself from eating. He can't tell you he's serious about this, then rush straight into sex… even though he's dying to see all of you. Kiss all of you. Taste all of you again.
Savor the weight of having you in his arms once more. The caress of your skin upon his.
You, sitting in front of him and smiling at him cheekily. Your glossy lips catching the light— and his attention as they move when you speak. Your hair framing your stunning features. Brightening his night, like the moon does. Yeah. You were his moon, orbiting the earth of his mind.
"You're staring," the nudge of your foot against his calf breaks his unblinking stupor of revering you. Sukuna swallows thickly, tearing his eyes away from you, ears burning. "I wasn't- I mean-"
The tilt of your head and cheshire grin makes his heart do a flip, pounding loudly against his diaphragm, "You were. I still know what your looks mean, Sukuna." You wittingly admit, redirecting his attention back to you with another brush of your foot on his leg. "I'd never thought that we'd end up like this again, but I'm kinda happy we did."
Sukuna exhales a trembling breath, pupils dilating and a tightness growing in his slacks. "You're flirting with me." the words are half question, half statement. Shocked, obviously. You were flirting. With him. "I'm… trying to take things slow with us."
"I am too," you hum coyly, observing the heave of his chest. How he's hanging on to your words. "I'm on edge about us, I don't want things to go wrong again. We have more than ourselves to think about… but,"
"But?" Sukuna leans forward, gaze heavy with desire. He thinks he knows where this is going— he hopes it's going there.
"But," You let out a sigh, rolling your eyes when you speak again; "I'll be honest. I had an ass week, and I'm really wound up, and you sitting here looking like this-" you wave a hand at him, receiving a raise of his brow in return, "isn't helping."
A pause between you lets the words sink into his mind. "So we're both struggling with our hormones tonight." Sukuna asserts huskily, discreetly man spreading to adjust himself. "Funny how we still affect each other like this."
"Hilarious." you murmur with a dry snort, glancing at his lips before moving back up to his eyes. "Is the food good here?" ignoring your hunger for him, you could go for some actual food.
"It's great." He smirks, picking up the menu. "I'll order us somethin' good, don't worry."
After that conversation, the tension between you two settled into a mutual understanding. A knowing depth to the others emotions and underlying passion searing inside.
Currently you two were sharing a passion for the plates of pasta between you.
"So, what'd you say you did for work again?" A twist of your fork has the fettuccine noodles twirling around them, dripping with sauce for a moment before you bring it to your mouth.
The creamy texture combined with the seamless blend of seasonings is heaven on your tongue. "Fuck.. you weren't lying about this," you moan quietly in delight, leading another forkful to your mouth.
Sukuna snickers, "Told ya," scarfing down his own noodles in big bites, fitting for a man of his size. His appetite is endless, he already had finished two plates and is almost done with his third.
Just large and in charge.
The server barely batted an eye when he delivered Sukuna's extra plates, only offering a wise smile to you both. Must be a common event for him to deal with Sukuna's black hole that is his gluttony.
"Oh yeah, my job," Sukuna clears his throat, taking a few deep gulps of his drink. "I work at the museum across town, used my PhD to be a curator." he shoves more pasta into his mouth after he answers, grunting in satisfaction. "Y'know I can't stand idiots, 'nd its a minimal contact job. Love it."
A soft laugh slips past your lips, and you take a sip of your own glass, "I remember you collecting your own antiques back then, you still do that?" a bashful nod from him has a smile growing on your face. Still the same nerd at heart.
"What about you?" He aims your own question back at you, pushing away the bare plate so his big arms have enough space for him to lean on the table. "You go into analytics?"
Sukuna recalls your study dates in his dorm; you studying formulas on his bed while he read nearby at his desk. Good times between you. Fond memories for him.
Your nod is brief, face shifting into something annoyed. "Kinda. I got an office job doing billing and analyzing expenses for the company. Stupid fucking job I hate-" you grumble with pursed lips, huffing. Sukuna has to stifle the smirk that's fighting to grow at your displeasure. You looked just like Suki.
Ambience of the room changing as the band begins a new set. Slower. Sultry. An amatory tune you can sense pulsing in your soul, mingling with your tension.
Good enough for you and Sukuna to dance to.
"Enough about my job. Did you still want to dance with me?" you nod at the floor.
Sukuna blinks once at the abrupt change of topic, standing from his seat with a hand held out for you, "Of course."
He leads the two of you to an open clearing in the floor, mindful of the distance between you and other couples swaying in their own intimate bubbles. Sukuna's hand finds the slope of your plump hip, pulling you in until there's no space left between you with a confirming squeeze from him. He was already loving the added pudge from motherhood on you. It was fitting.
Just like you against his strong chest, your soft breasts on his body, feeling the slow rise and fall with each breath you both take. Up close and personal, the way he's been craving to get you. How the two of you belonged, in his eyes.
"You just wanted a reason to hold me," your hushed teasing has Sukuna rolling his eyes, looking down at you. The smirk you get is an answer in itself, yet he leans down to whisper into your ear, "Is that a crime?" Pulling back slightly to catch the struggle of you trying not to react, flustered.
A forced huff leaves you, adjusting your arms around him in a loose hold, caressing his firm back. Big as ever. You shift your weight to lean further into him, listening to the steady thump of his heart. "…No." His heart skips a beat when you reply, but you don't comment on it. No need to taunt him when low in your heart, you know you both want the same thing.
The two of you remain in the easy swing of your dance, captivated in the smooth rhythm the band plays. Like neither one of you would let go of the other any time soon. You both knew you weren't. It was dizzying. The dim blue lighting, casting a romantic glow over everyone. The smell of his cologne. The flow of your dance, gliding like waves rolling onto shore. The intimacy of it all.
Intimacy you've been lacking. Intimacy that blooms a warmth in your chest. The cadence of jazz buzzes through the both of you, strumming like the strings of the bass in your bodies. A peaceful moment that transcends the walls of the building around you. Behind your closed eyes you could see yourself and Sukuna, on the beach under the moonlight. Mere feet away from the soft waves washing onto the seashore. Dancing together in an unhurried measure across the sand, breaths mingling together as your lips almost touch…
Muted murmurs of couples as they move off of the dance floor and the jarring scrape of shoes pulls you back from your daydream, glancing up to Sukuna. Who's made no move to let go of you. He must've been in his own world, too. Neither of you had even realized how long you two stayed in the middle of the room, only seeming to snap out of your mutual haze when the music changes into a more upbeat swing.
It was 8:00 pm when he picked you up, 8:15 pm when you arrived, now it was nearing 11:25 pm. How long did you spend dancing? How'd you both get so absorbed in each other and the atmosphere without grasping how fast time was flying?
Sukuna swallows, eyes heavy as he looks down, his grip on your hip lightening. "The song's over already?"
"Yeah," you nod, letting your hands fall from his back, "you're not a bad dancer, surprisingly." You absentmindedly bite your lip at the weighted eye contact you have with him. Thick with an assured sensualism you're both feeling. "But I don't wanna stay out too late, Suki wakes up early on Saturdays."
He understands, of course. You were a mom first, an infuriatingly sexy, good mom to your daughter. "I'll take you home, time did pass by faster than expected."
Sukuna drives the two of you back to your apartment slower than he would usually drive, not wanting the night to be over so soon. As he pulls into the parking lot, he stops his car beside yours, getting out and going over to open your door.
The view of your apartment number has you thinking of your daughter, asleep in her room and completely unaware of her parent's date night. Unaware that she was apart of the catalyst for this… but it mostly reminds you of her and Sukuna's growing relationship.
"You know, that call you had with Suki was really cute yesterday. I can tell she already adores you, a lot." You say with a smile, walking beside Sukuna to your apartment door. You two come to a stop in front of your door, standing in front of each other with only a few inches of space between you.
Sukuna grins, looking down at you, tone full of unabashed fondness when he speaks of Suki, "I love her already. I was thinking of bringing you two 'round my folks next time there's a get-together.. so she knows all her family. Meet my side 'n stuff."
Not a bad idea, something you were eventually going to suggest. So you nod, humming in agreement. "As long as Yuji's there, she'll enjoy herself I bet."
You both chuckle at the same time, letting out a soft exhale as your laughter dies down. "I had fun, Sukuna." your voice is warm with genuine gratitude, causing Sukuna's grin to relent to something mirroring your tone.
"Me too. You'll go on another date with me, then?" He takes a step closer, all soft eyed. The want and hope is crystal clear.
"Yes." You smile, reaching for the door, only for it to be swung open by Rin. Rin puts on an awkward grin when she comprehends that she might've disturbed a moment, her gaze darting between you and Sukuna. "Oh.. my bad. I just thought you couldn't find your key or something."
Sukuna stares at the babysitter, aloof— but mostly annoyed that she interrupted your conversation. He stays quiet while you pay her and send her off on her way. "A neighbor?" He asks as Rin skips away to her apartment.
You hum, standing in your doorway. "Yup. She's in her first year of college."
There's an awkward pause amongst you before Sukuna breaks it, "I'll text you when I get home, then," he sighs silently, "Goodnight."
"I'll wait for it, then.. goodnight Sukuna." You wave, closing the door gently behind you. But it doesn't feel right. The ache of your heart, the burn low in your core. You fucking wanted him. Badly. Damned loneliness festering in your soul, making the lingering embraces and hungry stare of his eyes irresistible.
You couldn't believe you were doing this. You want to go along with his pace but this was unbearable.
"Wait-" You slowly open your door again, standing just behind the threshold, finding your feet more interesting to look at when Sukuna pauses his stride.
He fully turns back to eye you, expecting a problem or some other thing. "Yeah?"
"Stay?" You're embarrassed at how tender you sound, how quiet your voice is, but you won't deny yourself this. Not after the build up of the night, no toy could compare to the warmth of his skin on yours.
Sukuna wants to say no. He doesn't want his thirst to win, and rush into sex. But the sight of you flustered and undoubtedly craving some much desired pleasure you probably haven't had in years? Paired with how you'd been teasing him earlier in the night while looking like something out of his dreams?
And his own desire? There was no chance he could tell you no. Not in a million years.
