“Where the Muse lives” 6x9 inch Mixed Media on Watercolor Paper. Dated 1-5-2019. Part of the 365 day Art Challenge 2019. I get most of my ideas for art when I am outside. Surrounded by life and colors. The ideas swirl around in my head. Popping in and out of consciousness. Some I can grab a hold of and run with it. The dots represent these ideas. I have laid down white dots with a black dot in the center for the darker areas. Over the yellow I have laid black dots with a white dot in the center. To say that those in the yellow are hitting the light of day and are the ones I have grabbed onto. I am convinced this is where the Muse hangs her hat. Until tomorrow folks 😉🤔 $15 plus $5 shipping & handling. PM to get this original piece. DOES NOT COME WITH MAT! #365dayartchallenge2019 #nature #muse #onewithnature #oktobedifferent #mixedmedia (at Meriden, Connecticut) https://www.instagram.com/p/BsR09zWjUDh/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1at3spen0t1m4
“Mother’s morning kiss” 9x12 inch Mixed Media on Watercolor Paper. Dated 1-4-2019. Part of the 365 day Art Challenge 2019. I wanted to do something light, delicate, and airy today. Mother bird and her child in the morning is what came out. Started with the curves that turned into birds. They reminded me of my mornings with the kids, standing outside waiting for the bus. So I did the background soft with morning sunshine. As the bus turns the corner we do a zillion kisses. They ask for lots of kisses and hugs. Love is the best way to start your day. I purposely left the two birds as one continuous form because I wanted to convey that bond of mother and child. Until tomorrow folks 😉🤔 $15 plus $5 shipping & handling. PM to get this original piece. SOLD “Journey to the Sweet Paradise of Inner Mind” 9x12 inch Mixed Media on Strathmore Mixed Media Paper. Dated 1-1-2019 part of the 365 day Art Challenge 2019. Everything starts with a dot, an idea, that expands outward into the world of reality. My only reference was a test creation I had done the day before that I wanted to explore. They said paint yourself. Sometimes wondering, what is me? It doesn’t take me long to remember... it is color. It has always been and always will be color. My work is all about color. Love how it grabs my attention. The first piece of the challenge I wanted to create something representational. Of course, this landscape had only exists in my imagination up until now. I started the same way as I do with any other work... a dot. The dot became the sun expanding out in oranges and reds. The color of the sunset coloring the far off hills and cliff. The blue flowing water separating the dry background and the lush foreground. Mother Nature in her lavish green overlooking this landscape. I used acrylic ink and Bombay inks for the background. Added two different gels on top of the ink (Golden garnet fine gel and Golden bead gel). Adding only a thin layer so it can dry quick. Acrylic heavy body paint, ink mixed with dry pigment, and wax pastels to accent the texture of the gels. In the end, I took a journey to a place out of my comfort zone. For better or for worse this is where I am. Until tomorrow folks 😉🤔 #365artchallenge2019 #landscape #oktobedifferent #mixedmedia (at Meriden, Connecticut) https://www.instagram.com/p/BsGcPTnDHWv/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=buduiene5mnr

"Jellyfish" 12x12 inch acrylic/resin on canvas. This was a fun experiment I worked on for awhile and that I completed over the weekend. Many layers and time spent even though the foundation had a major flaw. There was no way to fix it because of the texture. Oh well. I still love it! Tried many different techniques on this. Very fun! Completed it with many layers of resin so only a few handful of the spikes remain above the resin. #fineart #colorful #acrylic #painting #fun #different #abstract #oktobedifferent #surreal #ethereal #flowing #science #magical #forsale #amynordby #experiment #neverquit #change #abstractexpressionism #abstractexpressionist #like-glass #resin #texture #jellyfish (at Meriden, Connecticut)

"Coelenterates" 12x12 inch acrylic on canvas. Thanks to the artists that reminded me recently of the importance of underpainting. I hadn't been doing them with my poured acrylic pieces. My original thought was why would I. I did do an underpainting on this and because of that I think I ended up with a better outcome. This is one of 4 pieces that I have done recently that will be the last straight acrylic pours you will probably see from me. I am taking things in a different direction with the acrylic pieces. More details which means spending way more time on each one. Bringing each piece to a new level. Digging deeper and soaring higher with all the tricks and information I have gathered in my brain. Hope you like. Have a great one 😊👍 #fineart #colorful #acrylic #painting #fun #different #abstract #oktobedifferent #surreal #ethereal #flowing #science #physics #pour #accidental #fluids #pattern #magical #OCD #amynordby #experiment #neverquit #abstractexpressionism #abstractexpressionist #Fluidpainting #forsale (at Meriden, Connecticut)
