Olaavn participated in the wars between the Blay and the Wyhc people/vampires, one of the few instances in his life where he did not remain an indifferent bystander. His efforts managed to save his people from complete annihilation, however most of his culture was destroyed. One thousand years later, he is the last of his people as he knew them. He has become a hermit. There is nothing left for him in this world.
