SEVERANCE THEORIES

I haven't talked about Severance much, but here are some of my theories as to what their job is and why.

The innies are AI’s/robots, and are coding the lives of their outies. That could explain why the numbers they see are considered scary. The scary numbers have a negative impact on their outie's lives.

Outside of their town is an apocalyptic wasteland, and they are coding robots or some shit to clean it up. I'm not fully sure about this one, but I think it's weird that the outies never mention anyplace outside of their little gated community.

They aren’t AIs or robots, but they are still coding other people.
