1st picture: This is one of the most celebrated freedom fighters of all time, who opposed Gandhi's ideology by choosing the method of armed resistance against the British, but was the first person to call him the 'Father of the Nation'. A young Shubhash Chandra Bose
2nd picture: As I have highlighted before, even after having opposing ideologies, Bose and Gandhi had tremendous respect for each other. Bose was even the Indian National Congress president for a while. In this picture, they are seen sharing a light moment with each other.
3rd picture: This is the last picture of Bhagat Singh, who was executed at the mere age of 23. He was involved in two major plots against the British. He, and his two comrades had requested a death by firing squad, but their request was unheard. Walking to the gallows, he sang out "Dil se niklegi na marker bhi watan ki ulfat / Meri mittee se bhi Khushbue watan aegi" ("When we are dead there would be still patriotism left in us / Even my corpse will emit the fragrance of my motherland")
4th picture: Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi needs no introduction, the little girl sitting beside him however, is unrecognisable as the future prime minister, the iron lady of India. Smt. Indira Gandhi.
5th picture: Famously called the nightingale of India, Sarojini Naidu, one of the most important freedom fighters, and advocates for women's rights, with Gandhi.
6th picture: Rabindranath Tagore, perhaps the most celebrated author, poet and playwright of India, performing in his own play.
