Hooks I can offer:

Tailfeather: Brennan was born and raised in the small hunting and trapping village of Tailfeather in the Dravanian Forelands. If your character is local to the area or has ever had reason to pass through (for their own hunting, to buy a chocobo, for research or adventure, or anything else), they might have been assisted by Brennan in the past. If they’re looking to go there now, Brennan is willing to offer expert advice, though he has no plans to return in the immediate future.

Oschon: Brennan worships a homebrew aspect of Oschon, in his role as the Ranger, an interpretation of this god that is mostly specific to the people who live in Dravania. He’s a hunter-acolyte of Oschon, and while he isn’t inclined to proselytizing, Brennan is happy to talk about his faith with fellow followers or anyone who might find the conversation stimulating.

Clan Centurio: Brennan is a member of Clan Centurio and will happily assist other members of the clan with hunting marks or other more mundane aspects of preparation for a hunt. He extends the same courtesy to hunters with Alliance marks as well as unaffiliated hunters who may wish for an extra pair of hands and eyes for a difficult job.

Buscarron’s Druthers: When Brennan wants to put down his lance, pick up a mug, and socialize a little bit, Buscarron’s Druthers is his primary hangout. Catch a drink with him, swap stories, or go out back and wrestle a bit or shoot some arrows. I love destination roleplay, so let’s make some spontaneous public RP happen at this non-hub locale.

Hooks I’m seeking:

Hunter-Acolyte for Hire: Brennan is on a pilgrimage in Eorzea as a test of his faith. His mission is to seek out and hunt down “notorious beasts” (loosely defined) in the southern nations, eventually bringing back trophies of his kills to Tailfeather so that he can share with his mentor what he learned from the ordeal. If your character knows of any such marks, or has any helpful tips on where to look, Brennan would love to talk to them. This is a recurring hook; as long as your character has leads to give, Brennan will keep returning to them for business. Your character is welcome and encouraged to join him on the hunt if they desire to, but it isn’t required.

[Please note that Brennan is a hunter of beasts and will not accept jobs that require hunting men, beastmen, powerful voidsent, ascians, sin eaters, etc. Concessions might be made for less powerful voidsent, constructs (e.g., machines or golems), and spirits, depending on the relevance of the hook. His primary interest remains with powerful or pernicious beasts and monsters. Please also note that Brennan does not ICly have access to Othard, nor is he interested in hunting there at this time.]

Pathfinders: While Brennan is an experienced hunter, he's not from around here, and he’s inexperienced with the region’s specific landscape and hazards. While some few tales about Eorzea did make it far enough north to reach his ears, he mostly relies on the help of experienced adventurers. Sit him down and tell him what to bring in his pack when venturing into the ruins of Sil’dih, or explain why it’s customary to dance for Sylphs.

Appearance: 6'2" and 190 ponze, with chestnut brown hair and blue eyes, and medium-pale skin with rosy undertones. A half-elezen, Miles has lightly pointed ears and a heart-shaped face. His ears each have three lobe piercings, which typically contain small gold hoops. His nose was once broken and healed imperfectly. Favors knee-high boots, tight pants, and colorful waistcoats, preferably with a cravat.

Personality: Clever and educated, well-traveled, interested in the interesting. Sharp, snappy, occasionally petulant. Dogged in the pursuit of his desires, but prone to changing his mind before he achieves them. Though typically warm and welcoming, Miles can be cold and cruel if he feels cornered or smothered. He's not quick to violence, but he is comfortable with it. Prone to vulgarity in certain types of company. Suffers from the occasional lack of self-awareness, though he does try to be mindful of how he moves through the world. Miles frequently shows a keen sense of empathy, though often more in retrospect than in the moment.

Hooks:

World Traveler: Miles travels all over Hydaelyn to act as a courier for a private Ishgardian trading company, ferrying raw materials and finished goods between outposts on several continents. He may be found anywhere in Aldenard, as well as in Ilsabard, Othard, and beyond.

Artist and Appraiser: His true passion, however, is the visual arts, and Miles can often be found painting landscapes or sketching charcoal portraits of the people he meets. In addition to creating his own art, he also acquires, appraises, and sells third party artworks for potential buyers. Miles operates this hobby out of a small portrait studio in Ul’dah.

Absentee Son (🔒High-Born Ishgardians): Members of the Ishgardian nobility might recognize him as one of the youngest sons of a particularly fecund minor baron. Miles has apparently opted out of society life, and uses his mother's maiden name abroad to avoid questions about his title. This could be quite awkward for him, if he’s recognized in places he shouldn’t be, doing things he shouldn’t be doing. There’s a certain shadiness to him; Miles is a frequent perpetrator of noble fuckboy shenanigans, and partners in these shenanigans would be nice, too!

Man Around Town: Ishgardian characters close in age and of a similar lesser nobility background, whom Miles might have known growing up at court / from school / around town, could have pre-existing relationships with him that include the following: old friends, old enemies, vague acquaintances he might have gotten drunk with once or twice, ex-boyfriends or ex-girlfriends, girls his mother might have tried to matchmake him with and it failed miserably, distant cousins in other houses (hyur or elezen), etc. Let's talk about it.

Looking for: I’d most love to make connections with people who might have known Miles in Ishgard during his adolescence, via the last hook listed above. Miles is a very good social roleplay character, and is good for public scenes. I love destination roleplay on Miles -- Let’s get out of Ul’dah and go to the other major cities! Kugane, Ishgard, Limsa Lominsa, and Gridania are all places he frequently visits. Idyllshire, Mor Dhona, and Ala Mhigo are also on the table, with a bit of plotting. LF engineering/Garlean character hooks

I'm still playing around with ideas for what I want to do with Lucas's next story arc, but at the moment I'm soliciting hooks from other people who have characters that are magitek engineers and/or Garlean defectors (not really interested in playing with characters who are openly and proudly Garlean in public; they would need to be hiding it, like Lucas is). I'm picky about the tenor of Garlean RP that I engage in, so it would need to be very imperialism-critical.

As for what types of hooks I'm looking for, I'm pretty open. I'd love some one-off contract type RP to get started with and build relationships, but I'm willing to brainstorm a little on just about anything. If you have something, even if you think it's a bit weird, feel free to shoot it my way and we can talk about it. My Discord is thatsadorbsyo#6895. I did a short arc over the summer where Lucas and some of his friends and colleagues tracked down and brought to justice a hostile and unrepentant Garlean architectus who was hiding in Eorzea, and I think I'm interested in doing a similar story over a longer timeline in the near future, something that could possibly loosely tie in with the buildup to 6.0. If I end up doing this, it would help for him to have contacts with other people in the magitek engineering pipeline as well as other underground, sympathetic Garlean expats and defectors that he could work with, which is a big reason why I'm looking for more connections now.

All that said, please feel free to shoot ideas my way. Even if you aren't sure, or don't have a fully fleshed-out idea, or are nervous about talking to me because we've never spoken before, please send it to me anyway!! I wanna soak up that idea juice.

Notable Features: Alin is often dressed in simple but clean clothes dyed in earth tones, favoring function and simplicity over form or embellishments. He wears no jewelry nor makeup. His face is mostly soft-featured, with few sharp lines. He has a long-healed scar across his face, and the beginnings of crows’ feet forming in the corners of his eyelids. He is often tanned by the sun on his face, arms, and legs.

Physical Appearance: 6 fulms tall, 175 ponze, with tawny skin, dark brown eyes, and shoulder-length lightly wavy grey-black hair. Alin is heavily freckled across the face and shoulders. His build is strong but slight, as he’s no stranger to hard work nor to meager rations.

Personality: Happy to be the anchor in any room, Alin exudes a strong, stable, calming energy. He is a bottomless well of curiosity for the world and people around him, but he does not pry, choosing only to drink from what is freely offered to him. A little too old to be wide-eyed but still far too young to be jaded, Alin is a person of patient optimism. He is deliberate and steady, even-tempered, and rarely displays emotional highs or lows where others can see it happen. To some, however, Alin’s outward placidity may appear to be a bit of a mask... and they’re not entirely wrong, either.

Hooks:

Acolyte of the Twelve: Though Oschon is his patron, Alin is dedicated to following all Twelve of the Eorzean pantheon. He actively seeks to learn about the other gods directly from their most devoted acolytes through service, conversation, and ritual. Characters with active or strong bonds to their patron god(s) are welcomed as past or future mentors and colleagues. His current focus is on Nophica, and he is eager to meet and work with followers of the Matron.

Professional Exorcist: Alin was formally trained in conjury, and his primary occupation, if he can be said to have one, is in the purging of void taint on the land or performing exorcisms on people afflicted by voidsent possession. This is one of the few things for which he will accept monetary recompense, but he won't deny someone in need who cannot pay. If your character is in need of such a service, they may have heard of his skill and wish to consult with Alin for further action.

Always a Helping Hand...: Beholden to no country or creed, Alin's only philosophical loyalty is to the act of service and in doing small deeds of direct, impactful good. He makes himself available to all who need succor, wherever they are, in whatever way they need it. Medical and emotional healing, education and counseling, short-term physical labor, or even if one simply wishes for company in order to feel a little less alone for a time, all of these (and more) are services that Alin is grateful to provide. All one has to do is ask.

...Accepts Help in Return: Given his transient lifestyle, Alin often relies on the kindness of strangers to provide food and lodging while he's staying in their area. He's more than happy to work in exchange for the accommodation, and will insist on it if the provider isn't a direct beneficiary of one of his other acts of service. Alin will sleep in your guest bed, on your floor, or in your barn, and will eat whatever you cook without complaint. He'll leave a blessing on your home before he departs! Itinerant Ascetic: Alin has taken many vows, the most important of which are his vow of poverty and vow of unattachment. As such, he tends not to stay in any one place for very long. Alin often falls out of contact with people for years before reconnecting with them. Maybe he helped your character in the past and they are only just meeting him again. He favors jewelry made with leather cuffs and steel rings, and his hair typically has steel beads braided into it. Often sports a kohl smudge under his eyes. Physical Appearance: 5′9″, 170 ponze, with warm-toned tawny skin, long black hair kept in braids, dark green eyes, and some well-faded tribal markings. Miner and Deep Delver: Mining is a dangerous job that requires a special sort of individual, and Remy is oft-seen near the Miner's Guild in Ul'dah. Do you need some hard-to-acquire ore? Some rare sort of gemstone? Do you just need somebody dumb enough to retrieve something from a mineshaft? Remy goes wherever the work is, no job too trivial or too stupid.

Adventurer: He’s got a bow, and he knows how to use it. It's all about honest work these days, and Remy is a familiar face around the Adventurer's Guilds in all the Eorzean city-states. Hunting, dungeoneering, gathering, purifying, protecting; any job fit for one of Eorzea's swathes of adventurers is one that Remy is willing to take, with a few friends new or old.

A Fool and His Gil: Somewhat nomadic, Remy typically doesn’t stay in one place for very long, but he has a deep well of social energy that he likes to blow fast and hard wherever he ends up stopping for a day or two. Ale, smokes, company; he likes to sample a little bit of everything. If you gamble with him, be forewarned; Remy plays for keeps.

Shroud-Born: He looks a bit odd for it, but rest assured that Remy is a Shroud-born Keeper of the Moon. He grew up in the North Shroud, in the foothills near the border with Coerthas. He's often seen all over the Twelveswood, hunting, wandering, trying to keep his woodsin low while still taking care of business. Buscarron's Druthers is a frequent haunt.

Sexual Orientation: Straight? (emphasis on the ?) Relationship Status: Single Occupation: Temple Knight, Ranch hand Notable Features: Very pale (well-healed) parallel slash scars across his face, mainly along the cheeks and the bridge of his nose. When not in his armor, he dresses in functional clothes made with simple peasant fabrics in pale or low saturation colors. Physical Appearance: 5′11″, 220 ponze, with pale skin, short blonde hair, blue eyes, and dense freckles. He has a broad and well-muscled frame from years of manual labor, but he isn’t toned and lacks obvious definition in most places. Further sets of parallel scarring along his torso, though redder and less well-healed. Personality: First impressions of Landon tend to be Boy Next Door meets Choir Boy meets Good Ol’ Boy. He’s grounded, physically inclined, and a bit salt-of-the earth. Naive and trusting, though interpersonally guarded. Friendly aura, blank face, subtle sense of humor. Self-effacing.

Hooks:

Congregation of Our Knights Most Heavenly: Landon joined the Temple Knights in the final few years of the Dragonsong War, and saw a fair degree of combat with Dravanians. He also did grunt work protecting Ishgard proper when he wasn’t actively deployed. Any character who is linked to the Temple Knights or Holy See could have a reason to have engaged with him in this context. Alternatively, he may have had a run-in with your civilian or heretic character during guard duty!

Chocobo Rancher: Growing up in Tailfeather with his father and stepmother, Landon spent his youth working around chocobos (mostly cleaning up after them--it was not glamorous work). The Bell family is pledged to a noble house and performs chocobo husbandry and training in service to them. Characters who live or spend significant time in Tailfeather or who are in the chocobo business may know his family. Landon also currently does grunt labor for the various chocobo stables in Ishgard, so a connection could be made there too.

Halonic Devotion: Pious and devout, Landon spends a great deal of time in St. Reymanaud’s Cathedral and attends regular services. He has a pipe dream of joining the Scholasticate and taking a more formal step toward deepening his devotion, but he can’t currently afford the tuition, even if he wasn’t struggling with religious self-doubt. Halonic scholars, clergy of the See, and other habitual worshipers will likely know his face.

Spiritual Cleansing (18+): Landon suffers from nightmares and insomnia, which he believes are a result of some personal moral failure, and he is actively seeking guidance from a spiritual authority. While I’m eager to do general religious guidance RP with any appropriate character, I’m also specifically interested in seeking some dark and adult themes that bridge the gap between spirituality and sexuality (primarily, but not limited to, bondage/discipline, submission, and religious shame). This would heavily depend on his chemistry with the other character, and I’m likely to be fairly selective about who I roleplay this with! Although erotic in theme and nature, this does not have to explicitly include sex. All genders are appropriate.

Ishgardians: While I realize I’m tying my own hands with this, I’m trying to roleplay Landon as a character who doesn’t venture into the other city-states very often (and when he does, it’s almost always Gridania). As such, I am extremely fucking thirsty for Ishgardians-in-Ishgard RP! If you play an Ishgardian and you like what you’re seeing here, please reach out to me! I’m happy to put our heads together and come up with a contrivance for why our characters might run into each other. If all else fails, Landon frequents both the bar and the pew.

Sex (18+): I like ERP, but Landon is one of my tougher nuts to crack (no... pun... intended). He’s likely to eschew anyone’s attempts to date him, although at heart he’s a romantic and desires to be intimate with people. He’s not shy or timid, he’s just a bit closed off. Give it a shot! The worst that can happen is that he says ‘no’ too abruptly and then gets embarrassed and never talks to you again because he feels guilty about bluntly turning down your sexual advances. So, hey, no pressure.

Heresy: Landon isn’t (currently) a heretic, but you might be. ;) No spoilers for this one! Open-ended. Just fuck me up, dude.

General Character Info:

Sexual Orientation: Pansexual Relationship Status: Polyamorous Occupation: Dilettante mystic, which is his polite way of saying he’s an unemployed dabbler in many types of magic. Notable Features: Often covered in jewelry, and favors clothing in bold, warm colors. Wears black kohl liner or gold eyeshadow, depending on the occasion. Physical Appearance: Long black hair, dark brown skin, green eyes ringed with brown, unconscionably tall. Usually clean shaven but occasionally sports a stubble shadow. Narrow but fit build. Huge nose, bold eyebrows. Personality: Playful and warmly condescending, but rarely mean. Dramatic and frequently without lasting focus. For the brief moments that you have his attention, he can be a bit intense. Sunny and seemingly in love with everything, even the things he obviously detests.

Hooks:

Seeking Red Mage Trainer: Given Hiresh’s piecemeal application of various types of magic, he’s a perfect candidate for red mage training, and he knows it. It’s a major part of why he came to Eorzea, in fact! If you play a red mage, especially one with enough experience to train a pupil, he would have a reason to seek your expertise and tutelage.

Thavnairian Goldsmithing: Hiresh comes from a wealthy family of goldsmiths and jewelry crafters. If your character often wears Hannish jewelry, they may very well have bought it from one of Hiresh’s family’s boutiques. He might notice and strike up a conversation with you about it, or your character might be struck by the jewelry he wears at all times. He never turns down an opportunity to proselytize about his family business.

Mysticism and Magic Study: Fortune telling, prognostication, astrology, and divination of all types are of deep personal interest to Hiresh. If your character is involved in the practice or study of these things and advertises themselves as such, he would very likely seek your services. To a lesser extent, he is likewise interested in the (extremely abstract) study of voidsent, black magic, and white magic, specifically because they terrify him.

Aimless Hedonism: Hiresh gets bored easily and likes to flit from one shiny thing to another. He likes to indulge in the pleasurable and the provocative, especially (though not exclusively) in tandem with his lover, a Thavnairian highlander woman of excellent pedigree and questionable motives named Nisha. Sex, gourmet food, a chemical experience, fine clothes, erotic or violent theater, whatever you have to offer, he’s probably willing to pay for it, at least once.

Friendly and Indulgent: Just walk the fuck up, man. Hiresh welcomes opportunities to indulge a fool, and he’s not shy about speaking loudly in public. If he says something that catches your attention, speak up.

Sexual Orientation: Bisexual Relationship Status: In a relationship Occupation: Yakuza thug, drug peddler Notable Features: Favors black leather and dark, loose fabrics, has tattoos on his neck, back, shoulders, and chest, and a stubbed little finger on his left hand. Physical Appearance: Long black hair, dark brown eyes, light brown skin, 5′11″, muscular but slim. Personality: Often underspoken, unless he feels like putting on a show, slow to anger but prone to stewing in his discontent, frequently depressed, sadomasochistic, and a master at projecting false confidence.

Hooks:

Yakuza: Makoto works for Kiyoshi Matsuoka, a lieutenant of the Ito clan, under boss Miyoko Ito. The Ito clan is based in Kugane and sprawls across most of Hingashi, and has alliances with several clans in Yanxia as well. The Matsuoka family is in charge of the drug trade and protection of the Kugane pleasure district. If your character is current or former yakuza of any clan, or is otherwise familiar with the underbelly of the Kugane pleasure district, they may already be familiar with Makoto or his boss.

Thug for Hire: Makoto left Kugane and came to Eorzea to wait out the heat from a botched arson job. While he’s here, he’s going to need something to do to make gil. He has a few scruples, but not too many, and he’s skilled with his fists and with knives.

Drug Addict: His drug of choice to take and to sell is Serendipity, a Matsuoka trademark drug with mildly hallucinogenic stimulant and euphoric properties, taken as a snorted white powder. He’s also familiar with Somnus and many opium-derived drugs. If your character has a name for buying or selling illegal drugs, he might seek you out.

Seeking Alchemist: Makoto is in need of a connection with a shady but loyal alchemist for his designer drug endeavors in Eorzea. He has the recipes, he just needs somebody with the means and the skill to churn them out, and the discretion not to blow up his spot. This could lead to lots of different types of RP scenarios, and I have an open mind for wherever you think you might like to take it! Dark/mature themes are welcome but not required.

Impulsive Bastard: What is an aimless young man to do in a foreign land for two whole seasons with no pressing responsibilities? Fighting rings, pleasure clubs, fancy or unique restaurants, and anyone offering him a novel sensory experience will be high on his list of priorities.

Not Looking For: People looking for a villain to beat on to make themselves look like a hero, people who are too attached to an aesthetic to let their characters grow or change, and IC/OOC emotional crossing (IC sexual or romantic interest does not equate to OOC interest).
