If you want to design your character in the old style (before the 2023 character update)...

I found some entries of the sso website on the web archive, and some actually let you design your character and horse! I've been wishing there was a way I could do this for a while (I've been playing SSO since 2019, but I didn't have many good pictures of my old character) and I'm so glad I found them. So here they are, if anyone else is interested...

halloween in 2014 - 2016 sso

i am an old sso truther, but i think it should be said that the halloween we experience in sso nowadays is much, much better.

after watching all these old sso halloween videos, it made me remember just how... boring this event was at the time. for starters, the atmosphere just didn't quite fit. sure, there were pumpkins and other halloween decor scattered around the island, but it didn't capture the essence of halloween quite like how gallopers keep does.

the quests were simple and repetitive (as they always have been) but at least now we have cool spooky magical horses, lots of good rewards and clothing items, and generally more to do during this time of year.

i still miss the simplicity of it all, though.

Sometimes im just doing random chores around the house and I naturally hum the old sso soundtrack, but it has been years since i haven't heard it. Yesterday I decided to listen to the entire old sso soundtrack playlist and oh boy... the silverglade theme were always my favorite, i almost cried when I heard it again, it's so whimsical and beautiful.

I literally don't care about the discussions around SSO nowadays ("the game is dying", "it lost its magic", "its cashgrab", you guys know the drill), but you just gotta be dead inside if you listen to this soundtrack and don't feel anything about it.
