Nehemiah 8:10 10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

To Obey Is Better Than Sacrifice...
"Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord?
To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed better than the fat of rams.
For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry."
1 Samuel 15:22-23
When Saul did not obey God's commands to destroy the Amalekites and all that belongs to them completely, God regretted that he had made Saul king over Israel.
Samuel had previously conveyed God's instructions: destroy all that belonged to them. Even though Saul saved the Amalekites' best rams and calf to sacrifice to God, it didn't matter. What mattered was that Saul took things into his own hands. He thought he knew what the right thing to do was. He may have even deceived himself into thinking that his sacrifice would please God. But he had no excuse. The command was clear.
When we think about what we want to do for God, the best thing we can do is listen. Because of our sinful nature, we can never trust ourselves to come up with the right course of action, even if we feel our intent is pure and we desire to please God.
The meaning of OT to me is not 'Overtime' now. For me now, It means Old Testament
