Id: The piece of paper is square shaped with the edges torn and are jagged. It has been stained with coffee creating an uneven tan and brown color throughout the piece. The lower right corner is noticeably darker then the rest of the page along with spots in the upper right. There are two lines of written word on the paper towards the center. The second line begins with the word empathy and has been set of center for stylistic reasons. It was typed with an old typewriter so the font is uniform. It reads: Desperation does not breed empathy or clear thinking.
