Where does the USB doofer go?
WHERE’s MY DONGLE! If I have lost it once, I have lost it a million of times. This USB stick contains my life’s work. This tiny flimsy bit of plastic and metal keeps me from time consuming searches and making of materials. I felt I was advanced with my saving of work - I use to save on a floppy disk!
I live in a household of 4 induviduals, all of who needs access to the internet and computers, all at the same time and all equally important. My darling husband felt my frustrations and bought me an iPad and keyboard so that I could do my work on. My first question was ( after I shrieked with excitement) “ where do I put my USB?
Now, reader, I consider myself a compentant computer user but at the start of lockdown I was opened to a whole new way of saving work..... I have a GMAIL ( googledrive) and Apple Account ( ICloud) but I also have a GLOW account which comes with a OneDrive. This is what I use to save all my work and I can now upload this work onto an email to sent to my manager at the end of each week! wowzers. Now the question I need to put to myself is “ why havnt I done this before?” This is because it’s different. FOr those of a certain age... can you remember the large proper floppy disks? Then they moved into the smaller “floppy disks” which you could right protect, then we had the SD drive, then the USB drive and now welcome to the 21st Centurary.... THe CLoud!
Personally, I am still not convinced and when work resumes I think I will still save to the USB
