"Damn!" Q hissed, tossing the paper he had been reading back onto his desk. 'Agent Missing,' it read, 'Presumed dead.' He had finally allowed it, given the agent one of the 'gadgets' he wanted so badly, and now he'd gone and gotten himself killed or captured, or worse. It was sad, of course; a citizen of Britain and a loyal Agent killed (or in the process of), but...
Now the enemy - whoever it was this time - had a data encryption program that could decode the entirety of MI6's files. The palm pilot-like device Q had designed for the agent had needed a way to communicate with MI6's master database. It had been a test run, for one mission. It would be alright. Q had simply linked up the coding, allowing both programs to speak in the same secret language. One mission.
Bad idea.
