have you ever pictured buttons with a mustache? i think the right type might suit him :3
As a young man he struggles with growing any facial hair (or body hair, really) but he gets quite a mustache when he is middle-aged. It hides his missing front teeth well.

On the tooth pals topic, how would Buttons handle a trip to the wasteland dentist?
Not gonna lie, I’ve been thinking about this A LOT. I came to the conclusion that he might be okay with stitches and that sort of stuff without anesthesia but teeth? Nah. He would be so damn scared of losing his pearls and having to go to some random wasteland butcher to suffer through the worst pain imaginable without local anesthesia that he’d pay anything to a proper dentist just to avoid all that. I wouldn’t be surprised if half the quests he goes on were payments on dental shit :D (YKNOW LIKE REAL LIFE)
I’m also considering having him lose one or two of his front teeth later in his life. He would be speaking with a cute lisp as an older man.
If muttons is half Meg, half Buttons, does he have Buttons' caution and treppidation for the world plus Meg's more relaxed, "this is just how things are," attitude at the same time? The duality there would be... Interesting to see... To say the least.
lol I imagine him more like Meg’s stubbornness + Buttons’ cowardice. That mix kind of resembles Alexis. Makes me think what their relationship would be like if Alex was around to see him grow up...

Yes, also his teeth started going to crap and as a vault boy he’s always been very self-aware about them. It’s a good way to keep them covered. Not to mention his old man nose hair!
