#sundaymood☀️ and still savoring the moment on these two #whiskies from the other night. It unfortunately not very often anymore I come across a real #whisky list in a restaurant so this was a treat. Most lists these days comprise of whiskies you can buy at your local target or grocery store, except they charge ridiculous prices. I get it #wine sells better then #whiskey in most restaurants but at least try my restaurant peeps to get some better ones on your lists. Hey guys! How's it going?🙂. . Another weekend is just starting and we have another new review!. . We have a bourbon this time. It's the Old Forester 86 proof, it's the 1 liter version too 😄. This is a budget bourbon IMHO and I mainly want to use this as a mixer. . Old Forester is made by Brown-Forman, owned by the Brown family since pre-prohibition. Distillery is located right in Louisville, Kentucky. . Here is my review:. . Nose: Brown sugar, sweet caramel, vanilla cookie crust, a hint of oak, black cherry, orange peel and graham crackers. . Palate: The palate is first hit with caramel and burnt brown sugar, plus a nice touch of vanilla but it’s thin, and muted. Tastes like a young whisky but not offensive 😄. . Finish: Medium in length, warm, the oak tannins make a showing here followed by a hint of rye and some pleasing sweet notes of burnt caramel and dark chocolate, orange peel and black pepper at the end. . So what do you guys think of this one? Have you tried it? I think it's an ok bourbon, not overly complex but kind of good 😄 nothing to write home about though 😉🥃. . Hey guys. How's it going? For this Friday's occasion I went with a nice classic 86 proof Old Forester and it's the 1 liter version too 😉. Can't remember what I paid for this one, but I do remember that it was a great price, so I just had to have it 😄. I paired it with a nice Trinidad stick, looks very tiny compared to this 1 liter "monster" 😂. Here is my review of the Old Forester 86 proof: Nose: It's like a classic bourbon profile, honey, caramel and vanilla along with notes of orange. . Palate: It starts off pretty sweet, but soft, with more vanilla, honey and fruit, which gives way to notes of oak and wood. . Finish: Smooth, warm and a bit spicy, with orange and candied fruit. . I'm not very experienced with bourbon, but I think this one is one big bang for your buck 😄. What do you guys think about this Old Forester? Did you try? Did you like it?
