So... I had applied to a couple companies to be a brand ambassador and I finally heard back from both; and no I will not be naming them but I am going to tell y’all how I feel about how they made me feel. First off, I know I am not young, skinny or overtly beautiful, and I get that is what most companies are looking for but... I feel like that those companies and others are missing a few things... Unless the young skinny beautiful people were born with a silver spoon in their mouth they don’t have the money to buy what you have to give them for free for them to be an ambassador for you, and I am not trying to knock the young skinny and beautiful that were not born with a silver spoon in their mouth but I remember being one of them once upon a time and I didn’t have the money for all the extras, heck I barely had enough money to get my marijuana but I always managed to do so just like the young people do today. What I’m getting at is maybe some of these companies SHOULD look at us older women and men because we have money to spend on all the extras since we are done raising kids and spending on them. As a consumer I look at the ads closely especially when I’m trying to figure out if it’s something that would work for me and when I see a bunch of young people doing all the advertising I feel like it’s not meant for me even though a lot of the time, it so is. The one thing that I would’ve been so OK with and totally understood is if they would have come at me saying that I didn’t have enough Instagram followers, though they did ask if I have Facebook followers and I do run a page on Facebook that has over 10,000 followers so I guess I do have enough followers if you put them all together but that is besides the point and not what we’re talking about because that’s not what they said to me. I was actually told that they are looking for a more younger group of people to represent them.
