going through old pictures of us — the ghost of you, so far away, still living in my closet.
looking at them, seeing the young girl with dreamy eyes and a shy smile.
tears come up — I cry for the life she once dreamed of. was it all a lie?
sometimes it feels like it never happened. I want to let go of the past, to destroy every thought.
I need to get rid of the last trace of you — still hiding in my closet. everything I once was when you were in my life.
I rip the pictures from the albums — holiday and wedding. I destroy them, to tear the last thing of you out of my world.
looking at the young girl — and still, I cry.
